My Mommy finally found another job !

She thinks she will have a lot of fun.

She starts her new job soon... But I will be sad cuz I have to stay home by myself now. I have never had to do that... She has been home everyday with me since I was a baby, when I first got here. She has a neighbor who likes me very much and she said she would come over and play with me a little during the day, until Mommy gets home.

Now that Mommy has a new job, she says one day she will get me a girlfriend to live here, too. That way, I won't be so lonely during the day while Mommy is gone...

Bam-Bam's Looking for a Girlfriend...

My mommy says that she needs to start looking for a FEMALE for me before I have to get FIXED, which is coming up really, really soon ! She would like to have me carry on my genes and have a Baby girl or Baby boy, before I'm not able to...

Mommy is wondering: Do you know anybody with a female Maltese ready for breeding? If not, she would like you to give her some idea where she might find somebody for me...

Maybe one day I'll have a baby Maltese of my own...

Maybe not...

Bam-Bam's 1st Christmas !

He turned 5 months old on Christmas Eve... Last time he went to the VET, he got his final puppy shots (Rabies) and they said he weighed almost 6 lbs. already ! (He was the FIRST BORN, and also the largest of the 3 in the litter...) I'm not feeding him more than what he needs (according to the VET and the package), he's just BIGGER than his counterparts. The Maltese ideal weight is 5 - 6 lbs. fully grown

Maybe I should have named him "INCREDIBLE HULK !"

BAM-BAM is VERY excited about his first Christmas. He was afraid of sitting on Santa's lap, but he'll do ANYTHING for his Mommy ! The photographer & I did a lot of shouting his name and other such nonsense trying to get him to look towards the camera...Finally he did... But he doesn't look too happy about it ! I was just SO happy he didn't PEE or POO on Jolly old St. Nick ! (Whew!!!)

BAM-BAM is at the groomers today. They will give him a tubby, trim his nails and hair... He is just TOO skirmy for me right now to bathe him properly, myself... He tries chewing the brush and then he just lays out "Spread Eagle" ! And his hair MUST be blow dried, or it comes out curly (when it should be straight...) So, I give up ! Maybe when he gets older, but right now, let the professionals handle it !

Forgetting his "manners?" NOT! He knows better !

My Adorable Bam-Bam...

I feel like he's KINDA smart.

So far, I've taught him to SIT, FETCH and GIVE (when he's got something in his mouth he shouldn't have...)... He knows his name (but ignores us sometimes). He knows DADDY's name (and runs to the bedroom door or to the back door when I say "Where's Daddy?" OR "Is that Daddy???" (Of course, cuz he LOVES my husband and my step-son...BUNCHES!) He also knows that "KISSES" means to give us some licks. And OFF means get off the couch.

QUESTION: SO, WHY THE HECK DOES HE INSIST ON "FORGETTING" HIS POTTY TRAINING SOMETIMES AND JUST PEE ON THE CARPET or WHEREVER HE PLEASES??? OR SOMETIMES, HE POOPS ON THE CARPET, TOO !

He knows DARNED well it's wrong cuz he looks at me and starts to shy away... He knows he just won himself a "Time out..."

HELP ! Any advice? (And this is NOT in the evening...most of the time this happens in the day time with me close by !

HELLO ??!?!?!?

Is he doing it for attention? He PEED on my BROCADE comforter TWO (2) times ! I was absolutely livid because of that...
And I KNOW he KNOWS better !

A Trip to the Emergency Room !

1) On Saturday, after my mommy took me to get my puppy shots, I kinda got sick from them and I had to go see the doctor:

My eyes swole up and almost closed !

Mommy was HYSTERICAL ! She said a lot of BAD words to Daddy and then we all got in the car to go see the doctor.

I think we made it to the doctor in record time !

The doctor said that I had an allergic reaction to my Distemper shots, and then he gave me 2 MORE shots ! And I have to take these pills for 3 days so that it doesn't come back...

But, I feel GREAT now!

2) Also, mommy said that I did something similar to what my cousin Winter did when SHE was a baby: Since it was close to Halloween, I thought I'd chew one of mommy's ORANGE highlighter pens...

I had an ORANGE face and front paws too, and I looked like a clown...

Mommy wasn't too happy about the new color in my WHITE hair, tho I'm not exactly sure why...

1st Message from Bam-Bam...

My Mommy took me to my first grooming EVER ! I looked at Mommy with big, sad eyes and wondered why she was leaving me with this strange lady?

Mommy looked at me with her sad eyes too, but Mommy started WHINING! She did not want to go, but the nice lady said that it would be OK for both of us... And, that I could go home in 2 hours...

So, Mommy went shopping, while I got "my sexy" on...

When Mommy came to get me, I looked really good... I got clipped and dipped and snipped. I smelled really good, too. The lady told Mommy that I was really good in the "tubby" and that I didn't mind getting my nails clipped, either...

See? I'm turning into a BIG boy...

Potty Training is a NIGHTMARE !

It appears that my layoff was a good thing (for the moment, anyway...)

Cuz this potty training of puppies is a FULL TIME JOB ! And if I was at work every day, this would only take TWICE as long...

Bam-Bam is smarter than I thought this breed was... He gets tired sometimes and forgets... But for the most part, he's got it down pat... going on the wee wee pads where he is supposed to...

I am SO proud of my Baby Boy !

Since my departure from my job, I have taken him for his next series of vaccines... He did NOT cry at ALL this time... I was SO relived ! I can't bear to hear him cry ! (Although one of the boosters went up his nose...)

I have a friend who has a dog grooming shop... I'm gonna get my little man his first nail clipping and hair cut this week... He is gonna be 12 weeks old. But his hair is looking kinda scruffy, and his beautiful new white coat is growing in underneath... I don't have the energy to keep his hair floor length, so he will always have the puppy cut. Only his ears and tail will keep the long, flowing trade mark Maltese hair... (Less flea problem that way, too...)

One more thing, I found out that his mother and father are registered with the AKC, so I've gotta get that info and get him registered for his papers, too...

Bam-Bam gets carsick whenever I take him to the Vet's... I feel SO sorry for him. He will outgrow it, I'm sure. But I don't like making him sick, unnecessarily...

Puppy is a handful !

But Bam-Bam is QUITE the hand full !

This little guy takes watching 24/7 ! You can't turn your back on him for ONE minute. Yes, he is teething and if you don't watch him carefully, he will chew up everything in SIGHT ! ! !

I am glad I have my husband and (sometimes) my step-son here to help wear him out so that he will go take a NAP! For his chewing pleasure, we tied a white sock in knots so that he can chew on that. Also, we have another rope toy for him to chew on... And these dogs LOVE SQUEEKY toys...so I got him one of those. For his bad breath (and dental care), he enjoys "GREENIES"... I learned all this stuff from my friend, Shelly and when I kept her dog...

She has 2 Maltese, so she is guiding me...

The NEXT day after I brought Bam-Bam home, we went to Petco to get his next vaccine and the computer chip implant ($29), for identification. He CRIED so loud ! I couldn't stand it and had to walk away and let the Vet's hold him for his shots ! I have to go back EVERY 2 weeks for his next vaccines...
