Likes:
I like finally having a home! I like munching all my designated destroy-items, hopping, eating, barking, and trying to bite and scare Kiska. And I love to initiate cuddle-sessions by collapsing my front legs and scooting over to you like a porpoise.

Pet-Peeves:
Don't touch my neck. If that sounds ominous, then that's good. Because it pretty much is.

Favorite Toy:
Hmmm... I like everything - squeeky things, bouncy things, soft things... but I loooove my Q-Bear, and I'm also pretty keen on the ball. The ball! The ball! The ball! The ball! The ball! The ball! The ball! The ba... woah, I gotta lie down.

Favorite Food:
I sure fooled my new owners by spending the first week at their house bashfully eatting only tiny bites of raw food. Now I'll eat anything faster than you can scream "Drop that!"

Favorite Walk:
I've been around Greenlake a few times, which was pretty fun. I even managed to go for a few jogs around the city with Val, but its been really rainy here in Seattle, so I haven't gone anyplace too exotic yet.

Best Tricks:
I learned my new name and "sit" after only a few days, and have now mastered "shake", "stay", "drop it", and "down". My fanciest trick sometimes happens when I'm asked to "sit pretty" .

Arrival Story:
Pat and Val were looking for a Christmas pup to befriend their dog Kiska, and they found me at a PAWS shelter in Lynnwood, WA. After a spin around the cement play area, during which I was very calm and affectionate, they decided to take me home. I really appreciated this, because the kennel is no place to spend the Holidays, plus I was coming down with a cold and was becoming more repulsive by the second as outrageous amounts of snot bubbled out of my nose. (I was so snotty that Val had to get her entire couch drycleaned after I spent a night gurgling on it!) Pat and Val decided to name me "Jane" because I look so plain - in fact, I was originally found as a stray and lived for a short time at a shelter in Everett, but because of my plain looks was going to be put down extra-quickly. The nice people at PAWS took me in until Pat and Val had the chance to come looking for me!

Bio:
I have an enormous head and I'd like to be your friend!

No more diet!

Thank Dog! Mom says I'm 'looking good' finally... I thought I was looking pretty good before, but whatever. I've been on this thing called a 'diet' ever since I came home from the pound, and its just mostly made me pretty hungry and cranky. But yesterday Pat and Val took me and Kiska out to the park for awhile, and I had so much fun running around after the ball and everything. Mom said I had a lot more energy than I used to, and I'm looking a whole lot thinner. Kiska still ran circles around me, but c'mon, give a 4-year-old girl a break! So now I'm officially off my diet, and I can start eating a little bit more of my Canidae kibbles every night... I won't argue with that! Plus, mom's sticking with this whole 'cooking for us once a week' thing, so I get a serious feast every 7 days. Mmmm. I'm so proud of myself getting in such good shape (well, I'm just proud that I finally get to eat more, but don't tell mom)! Woof!

Mom Cooked!

Last night was the greatest! I was all sitting in my bed and watching some Disney Channel, and then mom came home from work. I jumped and jumped and whined but she just ignored me and started changing her clothes. But then she put on her running clothes, and oh boy, that meant we were going for a run! So then we went outside and ran around and around and then we came home and I was so hungry. But mom ignored THAT too and just started cleaning and cooking food for herself and Pat. And then it was way past my dinnertime and I was getting scared that I wouldn't get any food, but at about 9:00 I started to smell the best smell in the world. Oh my dog, I hoped that was for me. I knew it wasn't, though, because I always just get my kibbles at around 5:30. But lo! Mom suddenly lowered a bowl to the floor that had white rice, peas, carrots, corn, boiled potatoes, cooked pork chop, and raw venison medallions in it! I almost fainted! Mom said that when she had to cook chicken and rice for Kiska every day for the past few weeks (she had problem with something called "diarreah") she started thinking that maybe eating some fresh foods and something with some different nutrients than our usual kibble once a week would be good for us. I won't argue! Next Monday night can't come soon enough for meeeee!

A Whole New Hound

Oh boy, I had so much fun yesterday with Kiska and Val! I spent most of the day lounging around in my bed and watching TV, and then when Val got home from her work she took me and Kiska to the dogpark by our house. Usually I'm pretty shy, but I've been feeling more comfortable in my new home lately, so I decided to loosen up a little bit. There was this black fluffy puppy at the park who looked sort of like me, but a lot more bouncy and a lot more hairy, and we played and played. She was jumping and rolling and I ran around and pawed at her and started barking a lot - it was so so fun! I'm really glad that I'm feeling more comfortable at my new home, and I'm having so much fun going to all these parks and jogging around the neighborhood. Pat and Val said something about taking me camping this weekend if it doesn't rain, and Kiska says that is the most fun thing ever. Oh I hope I hope I hope its nice out on Saturday! I'm keeping my toes crossed...
