Woah! Woah! I love weaving around the yard like a total psycho, getting beaten both physically and emotionally by the 10-month old puppy I live with, going for runs and - duh - playing fetch.

Pet-Peeves:
Strangers, anger, and the 10-month old puppy that lives with me.

Favorite Toy:
Whatever the 10-month old puppy doesn't tear out of my mouth.

Favorite Food:
Canidae kibbles are what I usually get, but sometimes I treat myself to a tasty bee or spider.

Favorite Walk:
My favorite walks occur in the form of 3-6 mile runs around Davis, but I'll take whatever I can get.

Best Tricks:
My best trick is escaping. Nobody but me really appreciates this though. I can also stand up for "Circus bear", sit pretty for "Grizzly bear", play dead, spin, crawl, shake, etc. I'm so impressive that I won "Trickiest Dog" at the dogpark this year.

Arrival Story:
I was purchased as a 5-month-old puppy by Val, who discovered me poking around in Southern Washington. Val knew she was going to have to put her companion Mocha down soon, and was looking for a great new dog to eat her flooring and destroy her sheets. I was initially a very nervous dog, and spent my first few months hiding under Val's bed or behind the couch, and barking nonstop at anybody who got too close to me. Now I have blossomed into a very nervous dog, and spend my days sitting in corners and occasionally whining about any number of important and interesting things.

Frisbee?!?

OMD, I discovered something magical this weekend. It was totally sunny out all weekend, and Pat and Val played with me and Jane so much. We went for 2 runs and lots and lots of plays. The best play was on Sunday, when we got to go to this big park with a baseball diamond and some tennis courts and lots of things to peek at. Nobody else was really there (don't ask me why), so me and Jane got to go off our leashes and run after the ball that Pat and Val threw like 27,894 times. Jane used to be scared of the Chuck-it that mom uses to throw tennis balls, but now she's learned to love it! Anyhow, mom also brought this yellow floatie disc thing. I've never seen anything like it before. I didn't really know what to do with it, but mom and Pat started waving it around and bonking me on the face with it until I started to get so furious. I started to want to bite it soooo bad! Then Pat threw it!

I ran after it really fast, but it didn't go as far as the ball. And it didn't really go that fast - it just sort of floated along. What in Dog's name was this thing? Then, when it hit the ground and I pounced on it, I couldn't pick it up. The surface was all flat and smooth, and I just bit and it and pawed at it until mom came over and showed me how to flip it over so that I could grab it. Hmmm. They threw it again, and I flipped it over and grabbed it and chewed it so hard. I poked teeth holes all over it! I'm still too wierded out by this "Frisbee", as they call it, to catch it in the air, but maybe one day...

Anyhow, just wanted to bark you all about this strange toy that exists. You should check it out if you haven't yet. Mom says she's going to Mud Bay tonight to get me a more indestructible doggie version of this "Frisbee", because I destroyed her human one pretty good. Hehehe - what did she expect?

Youch!

Yow yow - I hope all of you had a better weekend than I did! Mine was filled to the brim with disappointment and pain. First of all, Pat and Val told me that they would take me camping if the weather wasn't horrific, and camping is like the best thing ever to happen! I was so so so so excited! But then we never went anywhere - I guess that's because it was freezing cold and pouring rain, but I would have still had fun. My people are such sissies! So instead of going real camping they went "camping" in their friend's living room on Saturday night. All the humans seemed to like this alright, but me and Jane thought it was so dumb. Aaron, whose house we were staying at, isn't supposed to have dogs in his apartment, so me and Jane had to sneak in and then be really quiet all night long! I did pretty well for most of the night, but after everybody went to bed my shoulder started getting real sore, and I started rolling around and whining so much that mom had to get on the floor with me to share her sleeping bag and pillow so that I could be more comfortable. I thought I tricked her good, but then when I woke up in the morning my shoulder was the most sore ever, and I didn't know what was going on so I just started screaming and screaming. Mom told me to settle down and held me for a little bit, so I calmed down. But geeze, I was so sore all day. Val told me it was from going to the vet the morning before and getting so many shots all at once. I got my rabies, and bordatella, and that other one for Distemper and Parvo. Yikes! No wonder I was so sore. Oh well, at least I know I will be a healthy lady for the next year!

Terrifying, but Unbelievably Chic

Wow, I had a super crazy weekend! I got to go to the park with Val and Jane, and Val threw the ball a whole lot for me. But Jane got a little selfish with the ball after this one really good throw, and she started biting me and biting me and mom got scared and yelled at us both. Neither of us were too hurt, but that was pretty scary - I've never been in a real dogfight before! I'm not sure, but I think I probably won. Yeah, I totally won.

The craziest thing that happened, though, was that Val and Pat took me and Jane to this really scary store - Val said it was the grand opening of some doggie store and that I should behave really well. I tried my hardest, and I think I did a pretty good job, but it was really really scary in there. There were so many people, and most of them had little tiny dogs with them that kept running up to me and biting at my face. What jerks! I kept hiding under tables and scooting up against people's legs, but evenutally I calmed down and started enjoying all the free doggie treats. Mom bought me and Jane a really pretty feather boa each, so that made me feel really fancy. Then she even got us some Bully Sticks for the ride home, so I guess it was a pretty good time all-in-all. Hopefully next weekend will be a little less bite-filled...
