Arrival Story: A few days before Christmas of 2004
*~*Someone I know brought a puppy (that someone had brought into his work) home as a gift for his 3yr old niece. The pup came from a backyard breeder-type situation. Apparently they had "many" dogs, none of which were spayed or neutered. Whenever "accidental" puppy litters happened, they'd sell what they could and give the rest away. *So SaD* NeWays, this guy didn't think past "cute, furry and FREE". So he brought the dog home to his niece, and soon realized the puppy, at 5 mo old- was not socialized at all, and had no concept of potty training. After asking a few questions on her history it was also determined that she, and her parents had little to no vet care. The puppy was timid and skittish, and was terrified of the little girl and her brothers. The little girl was scared of the puppy as well. Soon the family realized that having a dog would take a lot more work than they initially thought, and is a true commitment. Their "Free Dog" started to look like she would require more time and money than they wanted to invest in her. After having her for only 3 days, I found out that they were going to give her back, or take her into the shelter when they re-opened after Christmas. I said I'd take the puppy home with me for a few days, and she's been mine ever since. *^_^*
I'm grateful that we found eachother, but it makes me sad when i wonder what happened to her littermates, and parents.
Bio: I've had dogs in the past, but Yippy is really something special. She came into my life as an unexpected surprise, but I don't believe that it was by accident or purely by chance. You see, it breaks my heart to think of what would have happened to her had our paths not crossed; it makes me wonder where MY life would be without her. I guess you could say I was at a crazy time in my life when I met Yippy. She brought a happiness into my life that i had been missing, and she got me motivated to find something I believe in and also LoVe doing- I'm now Certified in Canine Massage (sports and therapeutic) and Large and Small Animal Acupressure Massage. Yippy and i currently work at a dog & cat supply/boutique which specializes in high-quality natural foods. I have also had my second Reiki Attunement and received my Reiki Certification as an Animal Practitioner~!

For my birthday tomorrow, mom made frozen yummies~!
She took the basic "Homemade Frosty Paws" recipe and tweaked it just a bit...
She used-
32 oz of Yogurt (vanilla instead of plain because i'm not a huge fan of plain yogurt)
A couple spoonfulls each of All Natural Peanut Butter (smooth), and Honey
1 Mashed up Peach (skin removed)
First she spooned the PB into a bowl and microwaved it for about 10 seconds (it came out of the fridge and was a bit stiff). Next she mixed in the honey and blended until smooth. Then she added the yogurt and mixed it all together. You can use a blender if you want, but it's just as easy to stir it all up with a spoon *^_^*. Most of the recipes for Frosty Paws use a mashed up banana.... but i don't really care for bananas, and we didn't have any bananas at home either- so mom mashed up a very sweet and ripe peach with a fork and added it in.
Then she filled little 3 oz paper Dixie cups, and now the cups are in the freezer, freezing for tomorrow.
Oh~! I got to lick the bowl when mom was done.
Isn't that always the best part~?
I hope my friends all like the treats~! It's supposed to be pretty hot tomorrow, so i'm sure they will be quite refreshing~! *^_^*
I even got an anonymous *Crazy Squirrel* Rosette to begin the countdown~!
Can you believe I'll be turning 4 on Friday~?
Mom is making doggie frozen yogurt treats for all the pups at work to take in with us that day. *^_^*
Logan from work has a birthday at the end of the month too... so i think we're having a mini celebration together. We're not going to have a BiG ol' PaRty, but just a little *HaPPy*.
