Arrival Story:
Our boys both have autism, and after being on a waiting list for Canine companions for over 2 years, we received a letter that our boys weren't "autistic enough" for a service dog. Santa arranged for Maggie to join our family from Lollipop Farm, our local SPCA, after a long search. She has brought so much joy to all 4 of us.
Bio:
Maggie's age and breeds are a guess. Dr. Tom thinks she is part Lab, part Greyhound. She hates water, and like a greyhound sleeps most of the day. She is build for short bursts of speed like a greyhound. I think she would do great on a Flyball team!!
SPCA info indicated that she was a stray picked up by animal control. She has done really well in obedience classes and is a great family member. Spring of 06 she passed her CGC and TDI and is now a registered Therapy Dog!
***** UPDATE!!!! We did the Wisdom Panel DNA test, and much to our surprise, NO GREYHOUND AT ALL!!! Maggie is exactly half Lab, half Doberman!! We are having fun learning all about this breed, and the reasons we never guessed Doberman. Americans are so used to seeing Dobies cropped and docked, we don't know what a natural Dobie looks like. I downloaded a photo of an un-cropped, un-docked Dobie from the internet, it's EXACTLY Maggie's profile!
