It's my 2nd Birthday!!! Wednesday, October 3, 2007

It's my second birthday! Mom just took some new pictures of me, and says that she will post them soon. I'm such a lucky pup!! I love my mom! And I love all of my kitty siblings.....Iris, Camilla, and Oliver! I still live next door to my best friend Romeo. I've even made close friends with all of the neighborhood kitties! They love me! And I love them! Mom takes me for walks everyday in Uptown. I'm getting to be a big dog now, so I bark and growl to protect Mom. But sometimes she still protects me. We're a team!

Time to go get some birthday cuddles!

My liver enzyme results came back. ALL NORMAL!! Yay!! It seems like staying on the special diet is helping. I get to go back to the vet in about 6 months for another round of tests to monitor my progress. Momma is really relieved that these tests came back normal.

Tuesday, June 13, 2006 --- Vet Day Again!!

Well, today was the day I had to go to the vet again. I've been on my new food for about a month, and the doctor had to check my liver enzyme levels again. Mommy will get the results tomorrow. I'll keep you posted. Keep your whiskers and tails crossed that I'm A-OK!! By the way.....I'm up to a whopping 4.7 lbs!!!!!

I also had my nails clipped, teeth brushed, and got a bath at the vet.....it was just like going to the spa!!

Ooooo.....5 minutes left in the third quarter of game three of the finals......how exciting. GO MAVS!!

Mommy has been sick most of the weekend, too sick to walk me. Poor Mom. So, I got to spend the night with my best friend Romeo and his parents. Romeo is the longhaired Chi that lives next door. We are very best buddies and we had tons of fun. Momma is feeling better now, and we have been snuggling all day!!

Tuesday, May 23, 2006 --- Liver Update

Thank you to all of you who have written me to find out how I am, and to send your good wishes! Thank you! I should have updated all of you sooner, but sometimes it's hard to get Mom to turn on the computer. .... .

Well, I had the nuclear scan. And it turned up negative for an external liver shunt. This would have been relatively easy to fix surgically. The specialist vet wanted to do an ultrasound and a biopsy (requiring anesthesia) to test for an internal shunt or microvascular dysplasia. But, if these came up positive, there would be no surgical remedy. The only treatment would be the same as if the tests came up negative, or if the tests weren't done. So, after discussing it with my real vet, Mom decided not to put me through the next round of tests, since they come with their own risks and no real benefit. So, the treatment is to put me on a very strict special liver diet to start, and test my liver levels in about a month. What happens after that depends on my liver levels. But, my eyes are bright, my appetite is good, my weight is good, and I'm still SUPER frisky!! And, I'm a really happy dog. So, so far, so good!!! I'll continue to keep y'all posted.

I went for another walk tonight with my best buddy Romeo (a longhaired Chi like me), and ran into Luna (a Chi), Mackenzie (a Spaniel pup), and my buddies Gretta and Tina (mini weiners). It's almost like I have an extended puppy pack. Luna's mom calls us the Small Dog Brigade!

Oooo, it's past my bed time.
