Birthday: September 6th 2002 Likes: When I come home and 'his kitty', Moe Pet-Peeves: When a person he senses is bad comes too close to me, brushing his feet, tail, and mustache, when I tell him not to bark at 'his kitty' Favorite Toy: Knotted rope, chewy bone, tennis ball, and of course...'his kitty' Favorite Food: Raw chicken, Raw Turkey and Pizza Crust Favorite Walk: Anywhere, USA Best Tricks: He won't touch the juicyest piece of meat in the world sitting on the floor right in front of him until I say 'OK'. If I say,"Where's your kitty?" he will find Moe no matter where he is! Arrival Story: I was living in OH and saw him on the local shelter website. I went to go see him w/ printed picture in hand (July 11, 2003). It was a small shelter w/ cold concrete floors and no bedding for the dogs to sleep on. He was the first dog as you entered the shelter. He rolled onto his back and started licking me to death! When I left to ask the staff if I could take him out he started yelping and whining! I knew I HAD to have him and he HAD to have me! The manager of the shelter was on the phone w/ Shaggy Dog Rescue to ask them to take Ruffian off his hands when I reentered the office. I paid $40 for him and haven't been happier!! Bio: He is a Lhasa Apso/American Pit Bull Terrier/Shih Tzu mix. Very crazy I know! When his hair is all grown out it is 4" at the longest. Hey puppers! My buddy Jovi tagged me and now I'm it. I get to choose 7 of my pals to tag.
Here are the rules:
Each player starts with seven random facts about themselves. Dogs who are tagged, need to post in their Diary the rules & their 7 pawsome facts. Then choose 7 dogs to tag and list their names. Don’t forget to bark them a pmail that they have been tagged and to read your Diary, or, send them a fun Rosette announcing they've been Tagged!
Here are 7 fun facts about me - The Ruff-man:
1.I have a perfect circle devoid of hair on my left hip from an abcess 2 1/2 years ago.
2. I held a funeral for my Mr. Stuffie.
3. I have HORRIBLE dog on dog agression.
4. I have a lazy eye.
5. I am terribly allergic to flea bites.
6. One time I ate a napkin and it came out the other end twisted.
How can I ever explain to you how much you mean to me? When I saw you there in the shelter, I knew right away we needed each other! I don't know if it was something in your eyes, or they way you yelped over and over when I walked away, or the story of how they found you all alone in a parking lot. Whatever it was, it caught my attention! After you came home with me, we had to take care of many issues; seperation anixety, tonsilittis, a skin infection, an allergy to flea bites, an abcess, a growth on one of your tonsils. Ah yes, and we had to work on stealing food off the coffee table! But how do I know this was all worth it?
You have protected me fiercely! You have an uncanny sense of when I might be in danger! Remember the time when we were traveling down to TX and we were at a truck stop? Someone petted you and you loved it! Then they walked toward me and asked for money, and you tried to attack them! And remember the time when we were on a walk alone together and some guy in a car slowed down and tried to talk to us? You wouldn't have any of that! You raised your hackles from your neck to the base of your tail and showed those teeth between growls and fierce barks!
Then there are the times when we just sit quietly. Even now you are curled up at my feet, awake but just keeping me company. You have been there for me through good times and bad. When I am sad you let me hug you and cry. When I am happy you wag your tail and do that cute little dog smile! You know, how your bottom row of little teeth stick out!
I know sometime in the future the day will come when you aren't as peppy as you are now. You won't be able to run with me, or chase a ball. And then some day, you will be gone. I try not to think about it, but how can I not? And as I am typing this I cannot help but chuckle, because you just started snoring! You always seem to make me happy when I am down!
I knew that day that rescuing you was the right thing to do, and everyday you prove to me how right I am! Thank you for three wonderful years and the many more to come!
