 Birthday: March 17th 2003
Likes: Flyball!! She loves it. Next to that, she loves to spin in circles - running in wide arcs or spinning tight circles, either way, she loves spinning

Pet-Peeves: Mud and puddles, she hates getting her feet wet or dirty

Favorite Toy: Tiny tail toys - little bitty tennisballs with a furry tail attached. And squeakies are good, too!!

Favorite Food: ANYTHING YUMMY!!

Favorite Walk: Around the block with Grandpa

Best Tricks: Sit, Down, Stay, SPIN

Arrival Story: Sadie came to me from the Southeastern Wisconsin Herding Dog Rescue. They had rescued her mother and siblings from the Chicago Humane Society. I got her at nine and a half weeks of age, and oh, was she a handful!! The rescue group did a wonderful job of socializing her, and she was so full of personality even then!

Bio: Sadie has become quite the flyball dog. She has now reached her Flyball Master title, after getting her Flyball Dog Champion-Gold title just last year. She really enjoys it. She's a lot of fun, loves to meet new people, plays nicely with other dogs, and is just such a joyful dog. She's got a very happy disposition.

Forums Motto: Happy dog!!

On May 19th, Sadie was having a very good day. We were camping in Iowa, playing flyball at a tournament in the Amana Colonies, and she reached the title of Flyball Master that day, quite an achievement, since she reached it in only a year and a half. It took Tilly over three years to reach that same title.
That night, the fun of the day went on the back burner as far as what was most memorable. There was an unexpected fireworks display, and Sadie bolted, breaking out of her exercise pen. She didn't just run, she FLEW, and no one could catch her. Thus began the worst 16 hours of my life. We searched until three am, through corn fields and cow pasture, across roads and barbed wire fences, without a sign of her. The next day, we got organized, and began searching more systematically, going door to door to businesses and homes. Around noon, she was spotted by a police officer who was driving through farm fields in the direction she'd ran, looking for her as he did his regular patrol. They called us, and we went to find her, but she'd already bolted, so we began walking the farm fields. She was spotted by a friend of mine, but yet again, bolted before she could grab her. As she ran, another friend began pacing her in his car, and saw her run right up to a complete stranger!!! They rushed her to me and my boyfriend. We were all so glad to be reunited with her! Tilly wagged her tail hard enough to beat the band - you could tell her "sister" knew something was wrong, and was so glad to see her, too!! She was found a good three miles from where we'd been camping, we were all so amazed that she was back, and without hardly a scratch on her! Just a lot of ticks!
So now, we're VERY careful when it comes to fireworks. VERY careful! Throughout the recent fourth of July holiday, we kept not just a close eye on her, but kept her leashed and indoors as much as possible!!!!
