Arrival Story:
I saw her photo on an animal rescue website (hppl.org) and I thought she might be part Alaskan Malamute and I have always loved those. Turns out she's a breed I had never heard of - a Finnish Lapphund. They originated in Finland and were used to herd reindeer (watch out Rudolph). She was found wandering near a drainage ditch near an office complex and a very kind woman managed to get her into the car and take her to this rescue site. And now she's mine!

It's been a long road since I adopted her. Once I got her home, she became very hostile and didn't want to be touched. Over the next few days I was afraid I had made a mistake in adopting her, until I saw a giant hot spot on her thigh - I had not been able to see it before, due to her very heavy coat. Once we got that all cleared up her personality changed drastically. It still took a while for her to become mama's girl, but now she's just as sweet as can be. All she ever wanted was someone to love her. I wish I knew about her past; I'm afraid she may have been abused. She was about 10 years old when I adopted her in March of 2003. She's an old gal, but you'd never know it. She has the energy of a puppy and loves to tear around the house and play with Chloe, my young cat. A match made in heaven! Update September 2006: I have lost my sweet Tina to inoperable cancer. I miss you my baby! I hope you find Casey at the Rainbow Bridge! (I lost them just 2 weeks apart).
