through the pasture behind the house. she has species misunderstandings...she knows she's not a cat, but thinks that she might be a cow, donkey, or possibly a goat but can't seem to understand why none of them want to play with her!

Arrival Story:
Dixie came to live with our family after my daughter's then boyfriend gave Dixie to her as a Valentine's Day present. Dixie stayed with the family after Amanda left for college and immediately became the "baby" of the family. She is spoiled rotten!
Bio:
like a lot of labs, dixie suffers from hip dyplasyia. she has dropped from 116 lbs (talk about a monster playful doggie!!) down to about 85 lbs since her diagnosis. her health and mobility have improved dramatically. she also suffers from allergies. she is on meds for both conditions. if anyone has any tips on dealing with these issues, please send a doggie message!!

dixie got 2 presents for christmas this year. one was from her mommy and daddy and the second was from amanda (her "sister") and shannon (dixie's future brother in law). mommy and daddy got her a new pull toy that has a ball on one end and a handle on the other. amanda and shannon got her a huge cow bone to chew on. dixie could hardly wait to tear into that thing! she stayed up all night licking and chewing on it on the back porch. she was smacking so much that she was waking people up in the house!
