Arrival Story:
Winston found us on September 14th, 2005. My husband was across the way talking to a neighbor who is building a house, and he found a 3 month-old puppy huddled under a truck. He had no collar, was bone skinny, covered in dirt and ticks, and didn't belong to any of the construction workers. They had seen him foraging around in the garbage around the lot looking for food. He came readily to my husband, who said if he followed him back home without being offered any food, we'd keep him. He did, and we did. I took him to our vet the next day, and he got a set of shots and treated for a respiratory infection, but otherwise he was fine. Raleigh was blase about the new arrival, but Charlotte was NOT happy that we'd allowed this foundling into the house, and let us know at every turn for about a week. Then, one night she followed him back to his pen in the laundry room, sniffed him all over, and by the next morning she was lying on her back on the bedroom floor, letting him use her as a chew toy. They've been best friends ever since.

Bio:
Winston is now about 70lbs. He loves to be outside basking in the sun, and taking rides in the car with me, barking all the way.
