Arrival Story:
Gabby was about 8 weeks old when I met her at the Hancock County Humane Society. She was so quiet and calm, and she just watched me until I came to her cage. All of the other dogs were barking like mad, but she was very patient. When I came up to her, she stood up and licked my hand and then sat down and waited. I went to the front and asked to get her out. We played for an hour or so in the "get to know you" room, and I was hooked. I put a deposit on her and headed off to get permission - at the time I still lived with my parents, and had to have their consent. They agreed, I brought back the note from them, signed the papers and waited for her to be spayed. About a week later (after daily visits of course), she came home. She's been my heart dog ever since.
