Arrival Story:
Dixie is Opal's sister, and she came to us quite by surprise. She and Opal were separated as puppies, when 3 years later, just before the 4th of July of 2005, I received an email from Opal and Dixie's foster mom, Amy (of the Calaveras County Humane Society) notifying me that she had found little Dixie dumped at the pound. She desperately needed to find Dixie a home, and thought we might know of someone who might want her. We jumped at the chance to rescue our little Dixie Cup and bring her home. We drove up to Murphy's, California with Opal that very weekend to bring Dixie home, and she's been the best present we ever could have brought home for Opal, Nini and ourselves! She's the sweetest, gentlest, most loving, most playful and most loved pup. We wonder how anybody could have had the heart to abandon her, but we can only hope that it was due to circumstances beyond their control. Happily for us, their loss is our gain. She's added so, so much to our lives. ALL our lives!
