The bridge

It's with a torn heart that I have to say Finny took the brave path to the bridge this morning. Turns out he did have hemangiosarcoma, and the pathologists just didn't find it in the section they checked. It moved to his liver, and he went peacefully, and quickly this morning. At least we had a happy past 2 months thinking all was ok. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers sent our way.

We got my bloodwork and urine results back that were checking my kidneys, and the vet says I'm good. Mom still wants to keep me on a low protein diet. But she's not as worried as she was. Our home is finally normal again. Or as normal as it can be with 6 dogs and 4 cats....BOL!

Mommy helped me put some new pics up. One is of my owie on my leg where they did the bone biopsy. One is me sleeping with my pal Cotton, and me sporting my new fleece.

What an Honor!!!

OMD!! OMD!!! I am so shocked, and honored. Imagine my sleepy surprise to see all the new gifts and rosettes from so many caring pups out there when I opened my mail this morning.
"DIARY OF THE DAY" WOW!! What an honor. All the well wishes have made me feel like I'm on cloud nine! You are all just so wonderful!
We are keeping all paws crossed here, but mom says I should be all better by the weekend. As long as my incision heals. The staples really hurt! Mom says my skin reacted to them. Well duh mom!! They HURT! We still can't believe both results came back good news. Mom says she prayed, and prayed, but still never imagined that both biopsies would be ok!
We will be running some blood and urine tests today to make sure my kidneys are fairing well. When we did the ultrasound they also noticed some issues with them. Mom said it's called polycystic kidneys and if left untreated leads to renal failure. She says it is common in older dogs too. Not sure I like all the "older dog" crap! But mostly I have to watch my diet and make sure I don't get too much protien. Seems good so far. I got rice, hard boiled eggs, canned pumpkin, and some Europa veggie mix for breakfast. YUUUMMMM!
All my doggie brudders and seeesters were green with envy!!! BOL!!!!
Anyhow, thank you again for the honor! I know it is helping me heal 20 times faster! Woof licks to you all!!!!!

Mommy is soooooooo happy, me too! We got the results back from my surgery, and not only are the results for my spleen benign, but the bone biopsy on my leg is normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone was really happy at work yesterday, and kept saying I dodged 2 bullets. I didn't even know someone was shooting at me!!! I'm just glad mom is happy again. They did take my staples out. All 25 of them!!!! My skin was swelling up around them, and boy did it pinch when they were coming out. I feel fine, but mom is still making me stay quiet. She says it's not even been one week since my surgery and I need to finish healing. Wonder if she'll make me something special to eat now, like homemade dog biscuits!!!!! Yeah!!! Off to bug her for a latte'!!!

I had my surgery on Thursday, and they did remove my spleen. It had a golf ball size tumor on it. They also took a piece out of my bone on my front leg. It REALLY HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a big incision down my belly with about 20 staples in it! And a gash on my front leg. Which is swollen and mom won't let me lick it! It hurts to move too! Mommy drug our memory foam mattress topper into the living room, and has made a big giant bed for us to lay on. And I'm getting whatever I want as far as treats go. It's nice, but I mostly like just laying with my mommy! Now we have to wait for the results. Keep paws crossed. Thanks Mia and Gibbon for my candle. That was really sweet!

Well, the worst has happened. Mom knew it was coming, but she didn't expect it so soon. She found a nasty lump on my leg, and I had to go get my sides shaved so the doctors could look at my insides. They found lumps on my spleen. My doctor says it's good and bad news. The good news is that it's only in my spleen, right now. The bad news is that it's there, and they think it's hemangiosarcoma. They are going to take my spleen out on Thursday. Mom says I can live without it just fine. She is still really upset, and cries a lot. She says I'm too young for all this. I keep trying to tell her I feel fine, other than a little pain in my leg, but it's only when I first get up. I forget about it, but then I remember, and put more weight on the other leg, and I'm fine. I run and everything. I do like all the attention I'm getting, though. Instead of having to ask for treats over and over for hours on end, they give me whatever I want. Pretty much immediately. It's great! Mom says she never thought I could be more spoiled, but she's going to do her best to do that! Well keep your paws crossed for a good outcome on Thursday. I'm off to get more lovin'!
