Arrival Story:
I do a lot of dog rescue work but don't typically foster since I have a tendency to become too attached. However, after recently losing my two precious little yorkies, I knew I could keep another dog temporarily and be able to let him go, especially an elderly dog. He was only supposed to stay with us for five days and then move on to his "real" foster home. Well I didn't count on my husband falling hard for this wonderful little guy. By the time he had been with us for 48 hours, we were in the official adoption process. He was declared officially ours on January 3, 2006. However he knew that from day one.
Bio:
When his first people left him at the local humane society all they said was "he is 11 years old, good luck". I went to pick this boy up for Papillon rescue. He had a lot of bad teeth and by later that evening, I knew they were causing him pain. We went to the vet the next day and he had 16 teeth pulled - yikes! He was doing better for a couple of days and then started acting funny. Back to the vet. This time he had tonsilitis. Once again he was doing better for a couple of days and suddenly became very ill. Back to the vet. He had pneumonia and spent a couple of days in the hospital but got to come home Christmas morning. He has been great since then. You would never know this little guy is an elderly gentleman.
