Arrival Story:
I am a vet tech and one of my co-workers was accepted to a culinary school in Dallas and couldn't take Cletus with her. She felt horrible because she had only adopted Cletus from one of our clients about 6 months before. My son was terrified of dogs so we told her that we would try him out and see if he was a fit for us. After two days we were sure that we loved him. He was so sweet and gentle with my two small children and taught my son that animals can be wonderful. He has been with us ever since and he is a loved member of our family.

Bio:
Cletus is a typical hound. He bays at squirrels that he trees and loves all people that come throught the door. He loves sleeping on anything that sits still long enough - sofa, chair, bed, humans. People that don't know him think that he is a doberman so they have to be educated on this wonderful breed. His nose gets him in a bit of trouble from time to time as he loves to dig in the trash can and pull out anything that smells like food. We even got a covered trash can but he figured out how to open it - ain't he smart! He loves to play catch with grapes, carrots, cereal and peanuts. When we pull out the peanut butter jar to make a sandwich he sits next to you and smacks because his mouth is wattering! Even though he is older, he still acts like a puppy. He loves to play tag with the kids in the backyard and chase his kitty housemates. He is truely an indoor dog and will whine if it gets too cold outside. He loves to sleep in front of the fire place when it is lit or on the electric blanket when it's on. I would recommend this breed to anyone...he is a wonderful dog and companion!
