Arrival Story:
Abby was a gift to my dad in law from my sis in law. He had lost his lifelong dog Bird (also a black lab) several years ago and was getting a bit lonely. On their way into town for Thanksgiving, they stopped outside Waco and found an animal shelter that had several litters of pups and when Rebecca saw Abby, she immedietly named her and decided it was just what her dad needed...and it was!

Bio:
Abby was a light in all of our lives, unfortunetly she was severly injured during one of her attempts to jump over the fence. My in laws have a rott iron fence and when Abby jumped her leg got caught in one of the decrative parts of the fence and she completely tore (distroyed) all the muscles and ligaments and nerves in that leg). The doctor said they could do surgery but it was well over $2500 and there was not a guarentee it would work, more than likely she would have to have the surgery several more times throughout her life and that she would also always have pain in that leg regardless of pain medicine. Because Abby was still less than a year old, and was not even done growing, the doctor foresaw even more problems. It was one of the saddest moments in my in laws lives but they decided it was best to put Abby to sleep to release her of all the pain. We all still miss her dearly.
