Arrival Story:
I adopted Tasha from the local Humane Society when she was 8 weeks old, on March 29, 1999. She was from an unwanted/accidental litter. Her mother was a greyhound/German shepherd mix, and her father was unknown breed. I had gone "just to look" shortly after having lost my beloved collie, Cody. I had not planned to adopt yet, but between her pleading face and her curling up in my lap while the other puppies lost interest and went to play, she won my heart.

Bio:
Tasha is a devoted sweetheart, very attached to her family but very mistrustful of anyone she doesn't know. She is happiest when she is with her people, no matter where that may be. She's a very happy dog, her tail is always going and she's extremely curious about everything. When I come home from anywhere, she spends a good 5-10 minutes sniffing out all my clothing, my shoes, any bags I brought in with me, and so on, her tail wagging the whole time. It is as if she is figuring out every place I went and everything I did by all the scent clues. She loves to run when outdoors but enjoys being a couch potato indoors. Tasha is 5 years old now, and very precious to me. She's also a wonderful sister to her adopted brother, Tommy.

From the Paw of Tasha:

Tommy and I have been away from our journaling for awhile. As you can see by our updated pictures, we've been busy romping in all the snow! As long as I'm moving around, I'm fine, but once I stop and start standing around more my feet get cold and Mom has to take me back in. I suppose that's why Mom bought me those ridiculous booties. I'm not too keen on wearing them but it's not in me to defy what Mom asks of me. So she puts them on and I walk something like a duck for awhile until I get used to them. What we dogs must endure to humor our people!

From the Paw of Tasha:

It has been chilly and WET and muddy outside! I would much rather stay in the house curled up on my sofa, nice and comfy, but Mom insists I go out from time to time... it ends up with us both standing at the door, her gesturing and coaxing, me standing and wagging my tail, looking outside and then back up at her curiously. But then she said that word..."Squirrel" and I froze, and then bounded out to chase off all the intruding squirrels!!

From the Paw of Tasha:

I guess Tommy and I have both been more troublesome lately. Mom attributes it to the change in season. I've been sneaking up onto the sofa upstairs that Dad says is off limits, and I have shredded some paper towels and tried to sneak some food off the coffee table. Mom tries to redivert my energies with walks and playing outside, which of course is very fun! I love going for walks more than anything!
