Arrival Story:
I got him as a tiny puppy (only 6 weeks old) from a neighbor who could not keep a dog where he was moving to. Odie was a beautiful blue-eyed puppy I could not resist! His name suited him because he was just like Odie from the Garfield comics--bouncing all over the place! The cats liked to tease him and he was just a big ole Odie boy! He loved to play with other dogs and loved life to the fullest!
Bio:
Odie was a red-nosed pit bull with the shiniest coat and when he grew up he had the most beautiful golden eyes I had ever seen. He taught me that pit bulls become whatever you teach them to be--loving, intelligent, gentle, and sweet. Unfortunately, he left this world at only 2-1/2 years of age because of a neurological defect caused by inbreeding. But even though his stay was short, he helped me through what turned out to be the most difficult time of my life. That was his purpose. Bless you, Odie, on your journey!
