Arrival Story:
Max came from the Illinois St. Bernard Rescue. We met him at one of the "Meet the Saints" outings at a Petco in Elmhurst. At the time, Max was about 4 months old and very fluffy, and we fell in love with him. The couple weeks we waited before he came home with us seemed like years. I had always wanted a dog (I grew up in a no pet house), and after being married and in our house for a year, we thought we were settled enough to add to our family. Max's original owners found they were unable to care for him due to their jobs (he would be in his crate for up to 20 hours a day) and smartly gave him up to the rescue. We can't imagine our lives without him.
