Toy? She would rather sleep or get scratched than to play with toys. Debt likes to woof at her pals (Clark Kent and Lowis Lane) when they wrestle.
Favorite Food:
Any food that can be snarfed that she's not supposed to have (allergies)
Favorite Walk:
Any walking that involves riding in the wagon while everyone else walks!!!
Arrival Story:
Debt's former family put a notice up for a "Free Basset". They were retiring and wanted to travel the country in their RV and only felt that they had room to take 2 of their 3 Bassets in the vehicle. Our Basset (Bailey...rest in peace) at the time had recently become a lone Hound and we felt that Bernadette (now named Debt) would make a good pal for her.
Bio:
How Debt got her name. Well, originally, her name was Bernadette. A couple years after she came into our home, she developed skin problems, resulting in vet bills. She also had a toe infection problem (only on one toe) that required treatment. And in 2003, she had a pinched nerve in her lower back. Sent us to a specialist (there went a few hundred. The specialist wanted to do surgery (swore she had a disc problem) at the tune of near $4K. We passed on the surgery and kept her rested (not hard to do with an older Basset!!!) and on muscle relaxers for a few weeks. Her back is fine now. Mom's intuition of pinched nerve was right! Anyways, the "Bernadette" spelling was changed to "Bernadebt" and then shortened to" Debt" after all the vet bills she's brought us!!
She also likes to go to Basset Bash in Woodinville Washington every spring...it's the Saturday before (or on) April 1.
Unfortunately, age took it's toll on our precious Debt, and we took her down the path to the Rainbow Bridge in the spring of 2005
