Strange, I know, but, the folks up at Banfields in Wilton take such great care of me that I had Mom and Dad start bringing my brother up there as well. They are the coolest!

Bio:
We don't know much about Roscoe's past life other than when he came to our home, he was was terribly under weight and had a variety of medical issues. We call him our Million Dollar Baby 'cause he has spent so much time with the vets.

Roscoe crosses the Rainbow Bridge

Roscoe is in pain no more. He spent the last two weeks begging us to ease his pain and this was the only way modern medicine could. As his vet, Dr. Akawi said in his last moments - his heart and mind are strong and willing but his body betrays him. Rest in Peace, Baby.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Well - I'm sort of getting used to this not walking thing. Mom and Dad have to carry me everywhere. Plus I have to wear these annoying "belly bands" (part of the not walking thing involves other functions, too...) But I have some snazzy ones - http://www.pekeatzurescue.com/bellybands.htm is where my mom found them. I have a black one with little paws, a scooby doo, a snoopy - and my favorite - NEMO!!!!
Because of my problems, we 4 leggers missed out on a camping trip. Thats ok with me, it poured the whole time! And this really nice lady came and stayed with Caramel and me to make sure we could go out when we needed to, eat, and have some attention!
Well, mom took me to Dr. Akawi to see if we could find a way to help me get walking again. Twice now, he's stuck these 10 little pins in me. They stay in for a while and the nice girl comes in and spins them a couple times. Then when they come out I get 2 more needles with vitamins in them. Argh! I was not at all into this on Friday. I kicked 2 of those pins right out after they were put in. So far, no change, but mom keeps trying, she does my exercises and makes me try to walk with my carrier. Dad jokes and says I'm a Roscoe purse!!!! Here's what it looks like:http://www.handicappedpets.com/belly.html

Not Again!

So... Mom and Dad wanted a weekend getaway - so they sent us to this doggy hotel... we got a suite to stay in! Cedar lined room with a bed and a doggy door so Caramel could go in and out when ever he wanted to the yard. I say Caramel only, because I still haven't regained the strength in my legs to stand up or walk. So I still have to be carried out to the yard, and supported to well, you know....
But this stay turned out to be not so good... The day after we got home, Caramel came down with a bad case of diarehha. I got it the next day. Then Caramel got a lot worse, throwing up and everything... Yuck! By the fourth day Mom was so concerned she took us up to see our friend, Dr. Akawi at Banfield's in Pet Smart (our favorite store!!!). The staff there said we were their 5th patient to come in with these symptoms that had stayed at that place last weekend, and, as we were leaving a little "mini me" came in with the same thing!!! When mom described her to dad, he said that she'd been a couple of "rooms" down from us when he dropped us off.
It turned out to be a bacterial infection so the doc gave us some good meds (although we both go to great lengths NOT to injest them....) to help us get better.
Anyway, we had our 2 week check up and the good news is that we're MUCH better. The bad news is that the doc thinks I'll probably never be able to walk or support myself again. Mom has to do these silly exercises with me, bending all the joints in my leg a dozen times, twice a day. I don't like all the foot touching, but I do like the attention!!!
