Likes: Going for walks and wrestling with his little sister Pet-Peeves: being touched or hearing noise when he's trying to sleep Favorite Toy: Any ball Favorite Food: Doesn't seem to have discriminating tastes! Favorite Walk: Local Park Best Tricks: play dead Arrival Story: This scared little dog wandered into the school where I teach and was frightened by children running and screaming to him and from him! I called him over to me and he cautiously came to me. I picked him up and the janitor was going to have animal control come and get him. I said I would bring him home and try to find him a permanent home. He was sweet, friendly, had no collar, was thin, and a bit stinky. After 2 weeks (and a bath) I was in total puppy love. Bio: Jasper enjoys meeting and playing with new people and other four leggeds. He loves chewing on nylabones and shoelaces. Is learning bad habits from big sisters, and is a definite mama's boy. He tolerates dressing up for holidays quite well (as long as the treats keep coming). Forums Motto: Love me, pet me, feed me I've Been On Dogster Since:
On September 6, mom took Chloe, Isis and me to Huntington Beach for the annual Labor Day Civil War Reenactments. We were so excited, we tugged on the leash all day. Mom said we were behaving like animals. Uh, duh! Well, we have been to tons of training and we know how to heel, but the smells were just too overwhelming. We sniffed all day, even met other dogs, were petted and felt so welcomed there. Many of the reenactors also take their well behaved dogs with them. We were happy to be with our parents all day, and although mom was nervous about our reactions to the loud canons going off, we were just fine. Come on mom, we are tough little chihuahuas! We were so tired on our way back that we fell asleep in the car, even mom was sleepy on the way back.
Today was the SCPCA/IVHS fundraiser at Bonelli Park in San Dimas. Mom took Chloe, Isis, and myself. We walked around, took pictures, and entered contests. I had my paw prints taken also. It was a lot of fun. Mom raised $270 for the event. It is important because the money goes to help other doggies and kitties that aren't as lucky as us and end up at the shelter. Mom dressed me up as the director's assistant, and she was the director. Dad was the magician Criss Angel, and Chloe was Holly Madison and Isis was Bridget Marquedt. In case you don't know, they are from the t.v. show The Girls Next Door. The crowd really liked my sisters costumes so they won. That is ok, because I've won many contests, but this was a first for Chloe and Isis. We all came home tired and sleepy, so we all knocked out on the couches and took naps when we got home. It was nice to go to a new place and smell new smells, we had a great time.
On April 2nd I got to go to a Pet Birthday Party with my big sister Summer. Our parents took us and the first thing I did was get my picture taken. Then we got goodie bags and mom but the birthday bandanas that were in the bags on us right away. We then went to practice musical sits with my trainer Debbie. She is a lot of fun and loves all dogs. I did pretty well during the practice. When the game started, I sat every time that mom told me to sit. I even sat when I saw her hand start to move for the sit command, even before she finished the command! That was what got us the win, I put my rear on the floor before any other dog every time. I got first place in 2 rounds! I won a $5 gift card, plus $50 coupons for free food. Mom used the coupon to buy cat food for gramma's cat since gramma is on a limited income. Gramma came over today and thanked me for the food that I won her. Oh, I also got to eat doggy ice cream, got to sniff many other dogs, and got lots of attention which I love. It was a great day.
