The love of my life

Mason, the love of my life passed away Jan. 10, 2010.
I have just now gotten to the point where I could write about it. This has been the most difficult thing in my life! I didn't know how I would get through this. But, thanks to the support of some wonderful friends and my loving partner ...I managed. Still, rarely a day goes by without me thinking of this precious angel. So many things remind me of him and I miss him so much! I cannot explain the void left in my life.

Doctor's report

A year and several months after the scare with Mason’s heart …I got good news from the Doctor! Just had a visit with annual shots and tests. ($236 !) Mason’s blood work looks exceptionally good for a dog of 10. His mitral valve problem, which had been a grade 6, is now grade 3. I believe the cod liver oil that I put on his food has helped. Of course, the Doctor wants to pull some of his teeth, but I’m not sure that I want to put him through that at this point.

Mason has a mitral valve problem. It had recently gotten so bad that you could feel the vibration with your hand on his chest. I cried my eyes out, thinking the end was near. I started reading everthing I could and consulted a local vet. I started giving him cod liver oil over his food. Now you cannot even hear the valve problem with your ear on his chest!
I have never know such love for anyone, anything! I could not bare for him to not be part of my life.
