Likes: Food, food, and food! Laying in the sun, going to obedience class (treats!), naps, snuggling, eating the parrot seed that Mommy's African Grey, Pepper, throws all over the floor.
Pet-Peeves: The vet, nail clipping, when he doesn't get to go with Mommy when she goes somewhere, when Mommy takes one of the other dogs somewhere and not him, small portions of food.
Favorite Toy: Mommy's shoes, he likes to carry them everywhere!
Favorite Food: People food! Cheese, chicken, hot dogs, turkey, anything tasty! Also, he loves "cookies" -- Old Mother Hubbard cookies.
Favorite Walk: Any walk with Mommy!
Best Tricks: Sit pretty -- he can do it forever! Looking really cute, plus he's good at obedience stuff like sit and down. He can also roll over and speak.
Arrival Story: Sammy's Daddy, Robert, got him before we were married. He answered a "free puppy" poster that was posted in front of the market. Both Robert and his sister were going to get a puppy at the same time, so they went together. The place was sort of "backwoodsy", but the people were nice enough, and they put a puppy in Robert's arms and one in his sister's, and those were the puppies they got. They told Robert that Sammy was "the cuddly puppy" -- and they weren't kidding! He's still really cuddly! I met Sammy when he was a year and a half old. I ended up marrying his Daddy, and I brought with me my two dogs, Misti and Bob, who became his big brother and sister. It was not long before I became very close with Sammy. He is my sweet little shadow dog, and he loves to go anywhere I go. When I first met him, he didn't like car rides and would throw up in the car. But I loved to take him places with me and it wasn't long before he learned to love to go. I am SO happy that Robert had Sammy -- he the the best Wedding present I could ever get!
Bio: Sammy is the sweetest, most loving, affectionate dog. He is the most well-behaved of my dogs; he is nearly perfect, having no real faults at all. He does like to carry my shoes around the house, which is really cute, although I sometimes can't find a shoe because he took it in the backyard with him. He is a "follow-dog", my little shadow. Even when the other dogs go outside to play (we have indoor/outdoor access for them and they have a big fenced yard they can go into whenever they want), he stays inside with me. When he isn't right next to me, it's because he's sunning himself on the back deck. He is a joy in all situations. We have great fun in obedience class (positive reinforcement only!) and he is the perfect walking companion. He's VERY smart and learns fast, so he knows lots of fun tricks and is a joy to teach. He does tend to get a little chubby, but he eats light food and we walk together to keep it under control. He loves food, though, and I do indulge him sometimes with Old Mother Hubbard cookies and also training treats. He's not only a great dog to walk with, but a great dog to relax with, because he loves to sit or lay next to me and snooze while I read or watch a movie. He even likes to get into my lap while I'm watching a movie, and he's a big boy! I love it, though, because I am just so crazy about him. He is, simply, the sweetest dog, and I am blessed to have him in my life.

Here are 5 funny things about me -- Sammy!!
1) I love to carry Mommy's shoes around! I greet her with a shoe when she wakes up, and when she comes home, and I bring her one if I want an invitation up onto the bed!
2) My ears are silly! Sometimes they both flop down, other times I have one up and one down, especially if I am looking up at Mommy waiting for a cookie! You can see my silly ears on my page!
3) I am a total Mommy's boy... which is funny because I was originally Daddy's dog! Mommy married Daddy when I was a year and a half old... but soon after that, I decided me and Mommy are best friends and we LOVE each other, and so now I am HER doggie!
4) I am a very mellow relaxed boy, laying around, calm in the car, pleasant to walk... UNLESS IT'S COOKIE TIME!!! Then I am the most animated doggie in the world! I love cookies the MOSTEST!
5) Mommy has often thought I'm not much of a play-d0g. When she is playing with the other dogs and tries to throw a toy for me, I might chase it once or twice, but I'm not that interested. BUT she has recently discovered a game I LOVE! It's chase!!! If she runs from me, I will ZOOM through the house, barking with my big, loud seal-bark (Mommy says I bark like a seal, heehee)! It is the most fun ever!
This morning started out less than promising in that after Mommy took Bob for his Coffee Walk (she sips coffee and strolls along with Bob while he sniffs), I am supposed to go next. Well, she came home... and we didn't go for a walk! I was sad. Until...
She leashed me and Amy up and collected Daddy and we all went for a Ride In The Car! And guess where we were going?
The DOG PARK!
It was really fun. I chased some doggies, and I hung around a lot with Amy. I loved it if Mommy and Daddy sat in the chairs in the shade when I was hot and tired, so then I could rest too! I found a really good smelly spot to roll in, and I stood in a mud puddle! I sniffed and sniffed and sniffed... doggies, trees, rocks, grass. I love to sniff!
Then, after we stayed at the dog park for a long time, we went for another Ride In The Car and I thought we were going home, but...
Instead we went to In-N-Out Burgers and I got a Double Double with only meat and cheese (a double cheeseburger)! It was so delicious.
Then we went home, and I rested in the car the whole way, and when I got home, I took a nap.
Later, we had dinner and it was delicious 'cause we got meat and veggies on our kibble. Yummy!
And, tonight, we got Evening Cookies twice instead of only once since Mommy accidentally said the word "cookie" and we all got excited -- she couldn't disappoint us!
What a wonderful day. Now it is sleepy time, and I will dream a little dream of Rides In The Car, the dog park, cheeseburgers, and cookies.
Today was really fun! I got to go to the dog park! Mommy took me and Amy, and it was really neat.
We are both Mommy's little shadows, so Mommy walked all over the dog park and we followed her, so that way we met all the doggies! I chased some doggies, and when Amy started barking in excitement (Amy LOVES to bark!), I barked too!
A very big Standard Poodle puppy kinda fixated on me for a while, and he wanted to jump on me a lot, and I gave him a little bark. I've never been in a fight, so Mommy didn't worry that I'd be mean to him, and of course, I wasn't.
Another thing I did that was fun was I laid in the mud! It was pretty hot out, and the mud was so cool.
After the dog park, we got to go through the McDonald's drive-thru and get cheeseburgers! Yummy!
This was a really fun day, and I can't wait till the next time I get to go!
