I had to get shots today.... I didn't love it so much.
First, today was a little strange, because mom and dad were gone for so long, (I was sure they were really outside somewhere hiding - so I whined and tried to look out the windows 'till Shannon told me to be quiet.) Then Dad came home and the three of us went for a ride in his truck. I hadn't ridden in it since we test drove it at the car dealership... :-) Then we went to the police station! There were lots of other dogs there, some were really nice, and then Shannon put me on this table. I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe this was the groomers secret hideout, but they didn't cut my hair. These ladies stuck needles first in to my right shoulder, then my left! The nerve of some people. I was so tired on the way home, I slept most of the way. But mom was finally there when we came home! I guess the days not all bad.

My mom is on this kick about socialization. I tell her its enough that I see other dogs on tv and have lots of stuffed dogs around, but she doesn't bite that.
The dog park the other week was fun, but a little scary. I mean, there was a huge mass of giant dogs zooming here and there, sometimes I had to try and scare them off. It worked of course. I did meet some nice little dogs, and a big fat weimaraner who was pretty calm, too.
Then the Newfoundland. Ben is nice, but he is the dog version of a tornado. As far as size goes anyway. We'll probably be friends soon. I always smell him on my mom when she comes home from work. I never knew dogs went to work until I met him there.
Then, the bulldog! Compared to her, Ben and I are best friends. I decided that she shouldn't be allowed to have any toys - even at her own house, so I went to take her ball away from her. It didn't work, I got a little apprehensive once I got close to her, and then decided I must get her off my trail by zig zaging in front of her barking my head off. I really did try to snarl, its hard to tell sometimes, though. She sure did smell good though! I didn't know any dogs smell that good! It was the best when she came in from outside. After a while we mostly ignored each other. And neither Shannon nor Mike would put me down to fight it out with her. They knew I didn't have to prove myself. For some reason though, Mike played fetch with her! I couldn't believe it! I never fetch, once it stops moving, what is the point anyway? Oh, I couldn't barely contain myself! I had to stop the madness but Shannon wouldn't put me down....I'm sure there'll be another time.
Maybe when it gets warmer we can walk to Lily and Chloe's house. They are good friends of mine. I only bark at them sometimes, its just because they both want to be my girlfriend.

I had lots of good snacks today.
There is this one, I had been drooling over it for a while, but Shannon kept taking it away from where I could get it. Thankfully mom left it on Shannon's bag right within my reach last night. When I got up this morning, after doing my rounds running around the house, I saw it there, and proceeded to tear it to teeny, tiny shreads. She thought it was a furry key chain, but it was really a bad animal just pretending to be innocuous. It would make them go places in the car, and leave me at a home. Even worse, sometimes it would make them bring me. I always think we are never coming back when we go somewhere in the car.... I pant and pant. But if everyone is together in the car, I mostly sleep. Sometimes I still pant though, because someone might get out, and the car could forget, and drive away without them.
Most of the day, after the key chain, I just had regular food. Finally, however, Shannon took off her sweater, and left it on the side of the couch. Bingo! A dark purple sweater she got for christmas, with lots and lots of yummy fur around the collar. Unfortunately, I didn't get do to a good enough job, because she was just mad, but is keeping it. I love anything with fur. Nothing is better than tearing all of it off.....

Sorry I didn't update last week, I was busy taking baths so I had no free time. I don't understand what is so important about getting wet and shampooey. It doesn't seem to do me any good. They say it makes me smell less, but isn't one of the great joys of life smelling interesting new things? How can I deny anyone who comes within five feet of me a powerful whiff of bonefide dog oder? I think it's rude not to smell, but they never listen to me. They even used to insist on ocasionally brushing my teeth! I tried to explain that they couldn't get a whif of whatever I ate when I licked their face afterwards, but they refused to be reasonable. Fortunately, they don't do that anymore. They got me these great treats called "Greenies," I like to fight with them (I always win). They also got me these great fake mice I can pretend to fight with... No I mean Real mice, they're not fake of dead or anything they're real and I kill them! Yep, no fake mice, real fierce fighting ones that I single-handedly kill. Its not like I have to play make believe, nope I get to kill mice in real life. Don't you believe me? REALLY!
Next week: Really, I'm a cold blooded Killer!

Well, this was certainly an interesting week. Sorry that I didn't update sooner, but I was very busy. The week was going fine until friday, when a suspicious strager appeared. He walked right into the house like he was a member of the family practically. He proceded to hug and greet my family like he was an old friend! I proceeded to tell him a thing or two about who's boss in this family, but everyone told me to stop barking. He looked a little older than the two siblings I live with, but younger than their parents. They seemed to act like he was a member of the family too? Needless to say this made no sense to me at all. If he was a member of the family he should live at home; it makes me suspicious that he only shows up on holidays and special occasions. Oh well, he only stayed a few days. I started to warm up to him by the end, but he left on monday night.
The main bright spot of the week was sunday! Everyone got up early and was really happy. For some odd reason there were wrapped boxes everywhere? I counldn't figure that out, but I had fun sniffing them. Some were even Dog Treats! I think we should do this sort of thing more often. We all stayed home all day, it was going fine until more people showed up. I knew them, they live at that house down the road with the cats. They might be pretending to be family members as well... They weren't too bad, but I would have prefered a quieter day. I did get to smell the cats on their pants, and nobody stepped on me! All in all it was a good week.
Next Week: Oh No! Bathtime Again!!!!

I can't believe it's monday again. It seems like yesterday that I embarked upon a new week. My new week is, however, off to a promising start. My day started very early this morning, earlier than my roomates, unfortunately. It took FOREVER for Shannon to drag herself out of bed. I could hear mom and dad walking around for hours before she got up. When she did recuse herself from her earthly slumber, she acted like I was the one who got up at the wrong time. She kept talking about vacation and how that meant she would get up after six. It doesn't seem like much of a vacation to me if you have to stay in your bedroom all morning, instead of doing something fun like sleeping on the couch! The morning actually turned out to be pretty swell in the end, though. Shannon and Mike didn't go to school, and although Mom left for a run she wasn't gone too long. As you can tell, I like everyone to be together. I don't understand why people keep going to work and school and church. Everyone should stay at home; If everyone did, then we would never be unhappy because we missed people. The only thing that is, however, more fun than everyone staying home is going on vacation. That way we get to sleep in the same room and go places together.
I saw a squirrel yesterday. I haven't seen many animals since the ground got covered in that cursed cold white stuff. Anyway, Mike saw it on the back porch and let me out as fast as he could (not fast enough for my liking, though). The stupid cheater ran up onto the porch's roof as soon as I got out the door. That is totally against the rules! Rather than coming down and fighting me like a man, he jumped of the roof towards the woods like a coward. I had to jump into neck-deep snow to chase after him, which got me ever madder. I had just caught up to him and was about to messily devour the punk when he scamppered up a tree. I barked at him and told him to come down and fight me, but it was to no avail. I even started climbing the tree myself (really) but then Mike called me to come in. As usual, I pretended not to hear him, hoping he would just give up. He would not leave me alone! He eventually leaned off the porch and grabbed me while I was in the middle of some urgent sniffing. Oh well, I'll get that stupid squirrel later. I have to go to Petco with Mike and Shannon now so I must get off the computer.
Next Week: A suspicious stranger appears...
