Mommy Tortured Me!!

Well, for some strange reason mommy decided I needed "grooming" and she decided she would try doing this herself. Hummmmmppppphhhh. I didn't enjoy the whole experience very much, but she finally "finished". She says I still look scruffy, but scruffy is ok for corn terrors like me.

Then to make matters worse, she stuck that flashy thing in my face and told me to sit "pretty". I hate that flashy thing and I wouldn't sit "pretty" for her to take my picture.

Anyway, then I didn't see any rabbits on my walks this weekend. I found the rabbit nests, but the baby rabbits were gone. DRAT.

Well, guess I better go for now.

More Baby Rabbits

I have now located two nests of baby rabbits in our yard, and I remember exactly where they both are and want to go back and visit them every time I go outside. For some strange reason mommy and daddy don't think that's such a good idea, and they make me go away from them.

Those baby rabbits are just want a corn terror like me would love to play with, what's wrong with my hoomans?

Baby Rabbits

Well, well, well....I was out for my exploration on Thursday with my daddy, doing my usual sniff and dig, when what did I find? I thought I found some nice joicy looking mice, but daddy took a look at the nest, and I had found a small nest of baby rabbits. He made me leave the babies alone and he wouldn't let me keep going back and looking at them! Dog-gone that daddy anyway!

I remember exactly where that nest is, and I keep trying to go back and take a look, but neither mommy nor daddy will let me.

Boy, they take away a lot of my fun!

On the good side, I do get nice long walks around the rest of the land, and I have lots and lots of fun.

It rained and thundered again yesterday, and I sure don't like that. I hid underneath the end table and shook and panted.

Well, it's time to go ask daddy to take me for another walk, so I better go for now.

I Saw a Wabbit!

Mommy was walking me today and I was rooting in the grass and digging and sniffing just like I always do, and then all of a sudden a big ole brown and white cotton tail wabbit jumped out in front of me. I don't know which one of us was more surprised or scared! The wabbit took off straight across the pasture and underneath the barbed wire fence and I wanted to go chasing after it. Mean mommy wouldn't let me though. DRAT!

Cairn kisses,

Poem - A Dogs Party

The Dogs Party

The dogs all had a party
They came from near and far.
Some dogs came by taxi
And others came by car.

Each dog signed his name
upon a special book
And each dog hung his backside
upon a special hook.

One dog was not invited,
And this aroused his ire.
He stormed into the party
And loudly shouted "FIRE!"

And in the chaos that followed,
The dogs forgot to look
And grabbed just any backside
From off of any hook.

So that is the real reason.
Whenever they meet or roam,
They sniff each others' backside,
To try and find their own!

Being a Stubborn Corn Terror

Well, sometimes mom and dad want me to go one way and I want to go another. So, we're at a standstill!

Mommy got some advice from one of the ladies that belongs to the cairn mentoring group she belongs to, and it seems to work.

They simply say "choosch" in a normal tone of voice and then firmly tug my leash, and guess what? Most of the time I go in the direction they want right away!

They don't know why this works, but it sure is easier than carrying me when I don't want to go where they want!!

I have a confession, I HATE thunder. It can be miles and miles away, but my cairn ears hear it, and I start shaking and panting and running in circles.

Mommy and Daddy hate to see me so upset, and the bought some herbal drops that were supposed to help me with my panic. They helped some, but I still shake and pant and run in circles.

I am a puppy mill girl, and Mommy and Daddy wonder what might be in my past that makes me so scared of the thunder, like maybe lightening could have hit the 'shelter' where I was housed or something.

They say they might talk to Dr. Anderson about getting me a mild tranquilizer for these thunderstorm days cause SE TX has lots of those in the springtime.

Other than the thunderstorms this weekend, I am doing great, I am play bowing when I want Mommy/Daddy to play with me, playing fetch with my stuffee toys, eating well, rolling over for tummy rubs, putting my paws on Mommy/Daddy's knees when I want some lovings or to go outside.

I am finding out how good life can be for a "corn" doggie!

My daddy takes me for long walks out on our land, and I sniff and dig and sniff and dig and dig and sniff! I don't know what I'd do with a varmint if I would actually catch something, but I bet I'd figure it out. Daddy and I have such a good time.

When I came to mommy and daddy they were told I was scared of men. HUH???? I think my daddy is just the best!! I love my mommy, too, don't get me wrong, but someone was sure wrong about me not liking men, at least I love my daddy!!

Better go, it's time to see if I can get daddy to take me outside again.

As days go by I am getting more and more brave. Daddy and I take long walks around the property and I am finding more and more interesting things to sniff and dig for! We take hour long walks and I am still ready to keep going but Daddy is ready to come in for a rest!

I am just such a good girl, and I am a joy to my new mommy and daddy and they tell me that I am helping heal the holes in their hearts from losing my angel brother and sister, Max and Impy.

This is my first New Year's Eve in my forever home. These hoomans certainly seem to love me a lot, and I know I love them a lot, too.

I now trust them enough to roll over for tummy rubs and I come to them without cowering down, love my walkies with daddy, and all the love attention I get.

I am so grateful to have a forever home that loves me, thank you Angels Max and Impy for showing me the way here.

Happy new year to all my pup friends!!
