"Woofs"

I found I can bark, well, more a soft "woof" according to my dad. I was digging for whatever I could find in our yard/pasture and Daddy heard a very soft "woof'" coming from my direction. They had never heard me bark before!!

I am loving my walks around the pasture/yard, and it's good for me, too, getting the exercise.

And, I am learning every day more and more that these humans love me and they will never hurt me.

Love,
Cassie

Cows

Well, I have discovered some very large dogs in the pasture that faces our back window in the living room. I perched on the arm of the couch to look out that window and saw these large creatures. I looked very carefully, and they are the LARGEST doggies I have ever seen in my whole life. I growled at them first, and then Daddy heard the first "woof" I have barked since I have been a member of the family.

Daddy laughed and told me those aren't doggies, those are cows? What are those things?

Cassie

My First Cairn Zoom

I showed mommy and daddy what a Cairn "zoom" is this evening. Mommy threw my little green Kentucky basketball, and boy, did I zoom!! We did this a several times before I sat and chewed on the ball.

Mommy and Daddy baby gate me in the bedroom/bathroom area when they leave the house, and I was scared of the gate because it reminded me of my wire cage at the puppy mill. So, Daddy covered the gate with a blanket, and now while I may not be happy with being gated to that area, I'm not so scared.

I also told Mommy and Daddy I needed to go outside tonight after dinner and they took me for a nice little walk.

All in all, it seems that my life with this boss man and boss lady might be a pretty good one.

Luv,
Cassie

My New Forever Home

It has been quite a week for me. Last Sunday this nice boss man and boss lady met the intakes person from Col Potter and then drove me to their house. They seemed ok, but I have had so many changes in my life in the past few months, I was really scared. The boss man walked me Monday afternoon and he wanted me to go one way and I wanted to go the other, and I slipped right out of my harness and took off running. I was so scared to get too close, but I didn't run off far. They turned their porch light on Monday night and left some water and salmon on the porch for me. I came back and ate that but I wouldn't get close enough for them to bring me to safety. Over the next 30 hours I came back several times, never close enough to be brought to warmth and safety though. So, finally someone suggested a live trap and load it down with foods I just couldn't resist. So, the boss man and lady did that, and I went for the food. They could bring in to warmth and safety again. Now when I go outside I have a leash on my collar and one on my harness that is also hooked around my collar. These people love me and they have adopted me!! So, I have a forever home and two angel siblings to watch over me. I think I'm a pretty luck girl.
