Arrival Story:
I was toying with the idea of getting a new dog, but was a bit reluctant. I'd lost Jini less than a year ago, and had almost become the guardian of a rez dog, but the owner changed her mind, so I didn't know quite how I felt about a puppy. I went to visit the wonderful people at Banded Peak Animal Care Centre in Bragg Creek to see if they knew of any new litters coming in the next few months that I could think about adopting from, when there in the lobby were four rescue pups from T'suu T'ina. Three of them were claimed, but that last little one melted my heart... so he came home with me for the Thanksgiving weekend and then made the long trip North. Wow, is he getting big now!

Bio:
There is a very serious problem with stray dogs on First Nation lands. There are no easy solutions. Essentially, I took a stray from one reserve to another. Stupid. Chance was killed by a hit and run while doing his favourite thing, chasing a ball by the lake. He died in our arms July 6th, 2007.
