Arrival Story:
I spent months searching for an "affie". I had successfully shown and bred cockers for years and then had to change to toy poodles because of family health issues but I didn't want to commit to showing so had limited choices from a reputable breeder. Ever since I was a young girl I had wanted an "affie" but I knew they were not a dog to acquire lightly. I finally found her and she is soooo perfect. We drove to Waco to pick her up on July 4. Bless her heart, she was so good on the 3 hour ride home and spent the next 24 hours asleep next to me on the couch. Little did I know what a bundle of energy I had brought home.

Bio:
This is my first "affie" and I am totally in love with this girl. Her best playmate is our rottweiler. She actually loves to be bathed and brushed. Lucky thing! Grace is a natural clown and happiest if you are chasing her or she is chasing you. There is nothing that she can't steal and she just loves to be a thief. You can actually see her eyes twinkle when she succeeds in grabbing something she KNOWS she is not supposed to have. One thing about this girl, she could never be left out lose in the house without being watched. She's a very busy girl. She likes her crate and is no problem to get her in there. Occassionally she does enjoy a nap in bed with us. I will never be without an aghan hound again as long as I can take care of one. Watching her run is poetry in motion and when she walks she prances with the gorgeous coat flowing in ripples. While I would never recommend this breed of dog to anyone that does not appreciate a clown and is not totally committed to their care, she has fulfilled all my dreams. One thing that surprised me is her protectiveness. She is more agressive than my rotty. While she is shy of strangers offering a good pet, she has no fear to protect. What a surprise. Also, this is a breed that has not lost their instincts from the original origination. She is quite a hunter and amazing to watch as she flattens herself on the ground "hiding" and ready to pounce on any prey. What a brilliantly fantastic animal.
