Birthday: October 21st 2000 Likes: Cheeseburgers, Beef Bones, Cheese, Tomatoes and all human food really except pickles. LOVES to fetch and chew on rocks. Pet-Peeves: Taking his heartworm pills and when someone creeps up really slowly to him. Drives him NUTS! Favorite Toy: Any rock from the yard and his squeeky squirrel. Favorite Food: See above. Favorite Walk: "round the neighborhood. Best Tricks: He can stand on his back legs for ages and twirl around. Also we throw a rock for him to fetch from the second story deck, he watches it land and fetches the same rock even if it lands in the brush. Bio: We got Mister just before Christmas from a home out in the country. We had just lost our black pug Sparky to diabetes and wanted to get a new baby. When we walked in the door and saw Mister's mom, we commented how much like Sparky she looked.
Strangely enough when we got his papers we noticed that his mom was Sparky's sister from the same litter!!
Our little angel Sparky must have sent Squeeks to us as we bought him on whim. He was the last fawn male left in the litter and was on reserve for someone else. We paid double for him and the rest is history!! We LOVE our little man!

In case you haven't heard, it's been over 100 degrees in Austin for most of the summer. Mummy said she'd had enough so we built a pool!! It even has a pug porch built in it so Bubbles and I can cool our tummies and relax. I love fetching my fishy toys, but mummy says I'm still not a very strong swimmer. I forget to use my back legs and start going down, so I'm not allowed out there without mummy and daddy, but our daily lessons are making me a better swimmer. Bubbles is such a fatty boomba that he's really boyant and he can cruise across the pool like an oil tanker. Mummy hopes the excercise will help him lose weight. We fattened him up a little too much after we got him, cause he was so skinny and all. You wouldn't recognize him if you saw him, but everyone always makes a big fuss over him and says he's sooooo cute. Kinda makes me mad, but whatever. We'll post some pics of us lounging in the pool.
I am so terribly sad :0( Something was wrong with my big sissy Brigitte and then the vet came and took her away and she's gone! Where did she go? I look and look for her and whine and stare at mummy for answers, but she just cries.
They say she went to heaven. Where's that and can I go to? I miss my sissies' kisses and cuddling with her. Please come back Brigitte!! I miss you :0(
My mummy's dad wanted to be a vet when he was a little boy, but his dad said he'd never make a living doing that and made him study petroleum engineering and work in the oil business. Seemed to work for him then, but seems now a vet is the way to hit the jack pot!!
Anyway, we aren't bitter or anything, but our family has seemed to notice our health care is getting VERY expensive.
Mummy noticed I had a runny nose and some green color trickling from my nose the other night. Worried, she took me to the vet for a look, but since they were busy and she had to go to work she left me there until the doctor could check me out. I'm doing great, but it wasn't cheap.
When Mummy came to pick me up she noticed the astonishing prices other pet parents were paying as they left. One had to pay $526, the other over $1,000 and another on a routine visit $320 and on it went. HUGE bills for rather routine care.
Turns out I have a stuffy ear and I'm not contagious but just 3 weeks ago mummy paid $30 for ear drops that haven't seemed to work too well. But really we are all shocked that my little congestion ended up costing $187!!
Here's the rundown of the bill and tell us if you don't think this is excessive:
1 Exam $31.00
1 cytology-ear $17.00
.70 Benadryl 50 mg/ml $15.43 ( these cost around $5 at our drug store!!)
3.30 Baytril Injectable (for my sinus infection) $24.54
21 pills of Baytril antibiotic $30.23
20 pills Chlorpheniramine 4 mg $ 8.50 (not bad)
1.30 Droncit Injectible $32.92
1 Otomax 15 g tube ( yucky ear goo to clean me up more) $27.75
Grand Total $187.29 plus $32.92 for tape worm shot because General Bubbles had one and they wanted to make sure I didn't have one too (though they aren't contagious and we'd been together only a few days when he was treated).
Mummy had a bad cold last week and guess what her doctor plus meds cost? $85 - no co-pay as she is on major medical. Seems a little skewed no?
Just wondering what you guys thought, because it sure seems a trip to the vet has gotten more and more expensive these past three years-when I had a stuffy nose then and got meds, the bill was less than $100. Guess I'll become a vet pharmaceutical rep... I am great looking and have the charm afterall :0)
Then again as the receptionist said to everyone while they mumbled how expensive the vet has become, "Well they're worth it aren't they???" Indeed we are! We're a billion dollar industry and the vets know it!!! And I'm worth every penny.... mummy even said so!
