Arrival Story:
I was doing my routine search on the dachshund rescue web pages and saw a picture of Rusty and knew immediately he needed to join our family. When I got him he was very shy and frightened, when I would talk to him he would just look at me like he didn't understantd a word I said. He never wagged his tail and didn't have the slightest clue how to play. It took rusty about 1 year to learn how to play and wag his tail. Now he is very happy, wagging his tail all the time and loves to trot around with his tail and head high in the air. He has a very sweet disposition and loves to just sit with you sleep. Rusty is such a sweetheart that people are always telling me that if he every needs a new home they would take him in a minute. My only response is no way, he is here to stay.

Bio:
Rusty is pictured with his adopted sister Daisy. When I first got Rusty he did not understand english, only spainish, hence the middle name Julio
