Arrival Story:
My husband went to a gas station on Thanksgiving Day to get some sodas and noticed this Bulldog in the back of a pickup truck. He went over to admire her and the owner said he wanted to sell her. He decided to let my husband take her home over the long weekend to see if we liked her and if she got along with our other dogs. Five seconds with this girl and we were utterly hooked! What a little lovie she is. We of course decided to keep her and found out we are her THIRD owners and she is only 10 months old. No wonder she hates being left alone.

Sadie's Stuff

I'm a mommy!

Wow, this puppy thing isn't half bad. I get a baby without all of the pregnancy and giving birth stuff! He's pretty cool, after all. He worships me, plays with me, follows me around, all that fun stuff :-)
I'm a good mommy, too, so Mom tells me. I keep a really close eye on Dozer, pull him back with my paw if he does something he shouldn't and won't let him wander off in the backyard too far. I think he's just too little to explore at the moment. I know the area that Mom thinks is okay for him, so that's where I keep him. He's even kinda cute, with that wrinkly face! This may just work out well after all!

Sadie the Great

Hi folks! I decided to take my time before I wrote my first diary entry because I wanted to see what I thought of my new home and new humans. Had to be sure they were worthy of me, ya know?
Anyway, I think I really like it here. My humans love me (after all, who wouldn't??), I have my wonderful big brother, Taz, and I'm spoiled silly! As it should be, of course :-)
The only thing I'm not sure of at the moment? Obedience school. Dad takes me and I have to hang out with other dogs and pay attention. What's this all about?? I mean, really. Did they need school to prove how utterly brilliant I am? DUH!! I don't mind learning new things and Dad seems to be proud of me when I do the right stuff, but these other dogs? Pleeeaasse! Don't like 'em, no way, no how. I am Sadie, Queen of all Dogdom, and they just don't seem to get it. However, I realllly like going to the store because there are all these new humans who fawn all over me every time! Anyway, of course I'm smart and I'll do what I'm told because that means TREATS! Oh yeah! I've even learned not to snatch them out of people's hands. Boy, that was a tough one! Mom or Dad show me a treat, say "leave it", and I have to sit there and stare at them, stare at the treat, stare at them, all while smelling that wonderful smell and wanting that treat NOW! Then they say "take it" and I can then take it if I'm gentle. Oh, alright, I'll do it, but only because it makes them so happy.
I've been overhearing Mom and Dad talk about a new puppy lately. What's the deal?? Is this absolutely necessary? Is he going to understand my royal status? Will he be worthy? Mom sat me down and gave me this talk about how I have to be nice to him. Huh. We'll see. Although, she did say that even though he's little at the moment, he's gonna get REAL big later on so I might want to keep that in mind. So??? Taz is twice my size and I keep him in line just fine.
I will let you know how things develop. I think this puppy thing is coming home today, so I need to go sit in front of the mirror for a while and make sure I look my best (and most intimidating!)
Ciao for now!
