Arrival Story:
I was looking for an IG rescue hound, but none were available. He came from a breeder who didn't want to breed him as he was small and timid. He finished as a champion, but in her opinion was too lean in the rump to want to pass on his genes. He was also a bit, uh, "timid" in the words of the breeder. At the first introduction he ran off in to the middle of the yard, turned, and howled. It took a few weeks before he was comfortable, but now he's a sweet boy. Still has trouble with new people and goes the other way.
Bio:
3 weeks after his acquisition he got a little too excited jumping off the bed and promptly broke his leg. :-( After surgery and the introduction of some steel plating, Hermes had a happy recovery; he got to spend his days at the office "keeping quiet." His leg is now fully healed, and he's running around like a banshee. I couldn't get the vet to put steel in his other 3 legs as a preventative measure, though.
