Favorite Walk: Anywhere we will take him. Best Tricks: Sit, shake, high-fives, balance a treat on the nose, toss and grab it in the air. Arrival Story: Trooper is our daughter's dog. He is with us enough to be considered part of the family. They are away at college, but visit often and stay with us during the summer. Bio: Trooper was adopted from the animal shelter in the area where our daughter attends college. He was a stray and didn't have much time left at the shelter. We were told he was about three years old at the time so he is about six years old now. He loves to go out on the boat with us and Bailey and has his own life-jacket also. He is a sweet boy and tolerates Bailey's rowdyness. When he has to go back to college after visiting us, he will pout for several days. Trooper loves to chase squirrels and other critters. With his beagle nose he can sniff them out easily! He loves to chase the laser light and he and Bailey will sit beside the shelf where it is kept and beg for it. Forums Motto: I'm innocent!!! I stayed with Bailey for a few days last week. On Thursday her mom and dad took us to a place called Little River Canyon in northeast Alabama. It took about two hours to get there, but it was fun. We got to get in the water at the bottom of the canyon and play. There were some children there and their parents let them pet us. Well, next thing you know we have them throwing our ball for us! I got to dig in the mud!!! There was a huge waterfall at the top of the canyon, but we couldn't play in it. We all had fun. Bailey's mom is going to put some of the video/pics on our page.
Shannon's (my mom) parents came to our apartment on Thursday afternoon and spent the night. The next morning they put Bailey and me in their SUV and we started driving. For a while I was fine, but after about three or four hours I started thinking that something wasn't right. We should have been to Bailey's house already. They said we were going to a beach house, so I just assumed we were going to Bailey's. Hey! She is a female dog you know. (Just joking Bailey!!!) Shannon and Brian (her fiance) came down late Friday. Shannon's brother, David and girl named Whitney came down Sunday morning.
We had sooo much fun on the beach!!! I dug and dug and dug in the sand. The water would come up on the beach and fill in the holes I dug, but I kept trying to dig them out again. We saw big crabs, little ghost crabs, several different kinds of fish and even a SHARK!!! It was only about two feet long. I chased the crabs. Brian even caught one in a net and let me look at it. I'm so glad he is gonna be my Dad next June when he and Shannon get married. Bailey and I played catch the frisbee on the beach. Well actually, I chased Bailey as she chased the frisbee. I swam in the ocean some, but I don't like the water as much as Bailey, so I was happy to play on the beach and lay in the sun. We had big umbrellas to get under if we got hot. Bailey wore herself out running in and out of the water. She loves to retrieve and once she even pulled me out of the water by my leash back to the beach!
I was really tired when we left to go back to our apartment on Monday and I slept almost all the way there.
On Friday I get to go to the beach with Mom and her family! I've never been before, but I think Bailey and I will have lots of fun! I just hope Bailey doesn't embarress me by being too wild and crazy. I like the water, but Bailey goes crazy over it. She loves to do belly flops and splash me, which I don't like!
