Yes, I have to admit it is true, my Grandpa ran me over on Saturday with his pontoon boat. Now, just to clear Grandpa's good name, it really wasn't his fault. You have to understand that this was our first ride of 2008 on the pontoon so I was just a little excited. As we cruised around the lake enjoying the sites we stopped by John's to see how he was doing installing his sprinkler system. We pulled in front of John's house but didn't dock the boat, oooooh I was so excited to see John or was it that I had to use the nearest tree. Nobody seemed to realize that I had a need, so I took the matter into my own paws and handled the situation myself. I leap over the front rail onto the front deck then dove into the lake; all this took place while Grandpa was still moving the pontoon. Yes, I scared my Mom to death. As I went off the front of the boat my head hit the edge of the boat, boy my jaw took most of the impact, but I was on a mission and barely noticed. Once I was in the water I noticed that the pontoon was gliding over me, so I turned towards shore and some how managed to escape. I headed to shore with a tree in sight I took care of my business, oops there were two trees to take care of, and as I was doing my thing at the second tree Mom had managed to make her was to the dock where she immediately screamed, "Jackson", yikes, I was so busted. Ok, I was listening and ran back down the dock to the pontoon which was now docked or being held by John at the dock. I didn't want to get too close to Mom, so I darted by her, jumped off the dock onto the front deck of the pontoon then just as I had left the pontoon I leap over the front rail again. Sure it might have been easier to use the open side door but I just didn't want to get too close to my Mom who looked pretty mad at me. Of course, once we were all settled on the pontoon and John shoved us off did I have to have a little discussion with Mom and the rest of the flabbergasted family.
Just another exciting day at the lake!

Ok, I'm really can't take all the blame for Mom's injury. Look at it this way, it was a moving violation on her part, she rear-ended me. Yeah, she broke her little toe, she really did't think it was too big of deal, but then two weeks later she walked into the wall barefoot. That wall got her attention, enough for her to contact the doctor and request to see a specialist. Well her foot doctor, Dr. Gephart found that not only did Mom have a broken little toe but that there was a fracture under her big toe and her heel was fractured. Dr. Gephart thinks that Mom landing funny causing all these injurys. It only took two weeks to discover these other injurys, yeah for Urgent Care!
Well Dr. Gephart put Mom in a soft cast for a week, then she returned a week later for a look see. Not good. Dr. Gephart asked Mom what she would be doing for the next three weeks. Three weeks . . . that meant a cast, purple of course, pretty.
So for the next three weeks Mom hobbled around on her crutches, yeah she almost feel off the sea wall once, now she stays clear of the water. Well after three weeks Mom returned to have her cast removed, hummm, her foot looked worse. Dr. Gephart sent Mom directly over to the hospital for a test to make sure she didn't have a blood clot, the results were good, no issues there. Now Mom is due to have an MRI next week to check the soft tissue, basically the doctor it pretty sure that Mom will be having surgery real soon.
I just hope Mom gets better soon, Aunt Suzy and Grandma do not seem to enjoy my company during their walks, only my Mom does. I'm crossing my paws for a speedy recovery Mom.
Love your son,
Jackson

What can I say, the results are not good. Mom and Dad spent the afternoon at Urgent Care. When they returned home Mom had this funny looking shoe on her foot. I'm thinking, hey Mom where are your tennis shoes, you know the ones you wear when we go walking. Mom hobbled along into the house. Though it was dinner time I really didn't run up and greet her, something didn't seem right to me. Mom got my dinner ready and called me to eat, I came in reluctantly, but she encouraged me to enjoy my dinner (should I trust her?). Anyway, after dinner I decided that I had better check out what was going on with Mom, were we going to go walking this evening, did she want to play outside with me, so many questions ran thru my head. Well, Mom went outside on the patio to sit down and she called me over for a little chat. She explained to me that her foot was indeed broken and that she would be wearing this funny shoe for a couple of weeks, and no we would not be going for any walks. I tried to suck up to her but I felt really sad and ashamed of causing Mom to get hurt. All evening I laid low, sulking and shameful. I know Mom loves me and even though she is in a lot of pain but I sure look forward to having my playmate back in good health. Hugs and Kisses to Mom of the Year! Love your son, Jack
