One day I came home and my boyfriend found a litter of american bull dogs in Arcadia about two hours south of our home on a web site called petfinder . I had decided to adopt one of the puppies and was showing a coworker a picture of the litter online when I saw her picture underneath the litter and it said URGENT! So of course I had to click and find out more info. When the picture came up it was of a beautiful brindle mixed breed 6mo puppy who was in a kill shelter and would be put to sleep on Friday if not rescued. This was on a Tuesday. I was completely torn up about what to do. We were living in an apartment and weren't really planning on having one puppy let alone two puppies. I must have asked everyone I knew if they wanted to adopt her, I offered to pick her up and pay for everything but no one could commit with such short notice. So I talked to my boyfriend and we decided that we would foster her until we found her a home. I called the shelter and asked if they could hold on to her until Saturday as that would be the only day I could drive up to Ocala about 1 1/2 hours north of my house. They said that I had to promise to come and that they would meet me Saturday morning. So Saturday morning my boyfriend and I drove up to Ocala where we found the most adorably baby girl. They let us walk her out to a grassy area where the first thing she did is jump in to our lap and give us kisses. She was just so sweet and seemed so happy to see us. On the way home she wanted to sit in my boyfriends lap while he drove. He just couldn't resist and let her fall asleep in his lap. I think from that momment on he fell in love. After about a week of trying to find her a home we knew that she already had home with us and that we wouldn't be able to give her up. I've Been On Dogster Since:
