Arrival Story:
I adopted a pregnant pooch (didn't know it at the time) from Animal Care and Control in the Fall of 1994...and a few weeks later, I was the pround Papa of 11 little monsters. Out of all of them, Thad clicked with me the best. He was my baby and had been with me since day one. Sadly, my loving companion Thaddeus is no longer with us. He became very sick in early November 2007 and was put to rest later that month just a couple of weeks after his 13th birthday. His illness came without warning and unfortunately after many visits to the hospital and a number of diagnostic tests, we still were not able to identify the root cause of his anemia. But it was clear that he was not improving with the treatment for his condition and he began to develop peripheral complications that were seriously impacting his quality of life. His spirit and presence will stay with me always but I cannot deny the void that he has left in my heart and my home. I will forever miss the sound of him running down the hall to greet me, the jingle of his collar, his puppy dog eyes while resting his head at the foot of the bed waiting for an invitation to hop up, his howl at the fire trucks, his paw on the ball to keep it from rolling away, and yes, even his obsession with the mail man! The hardest part was how quickly everything happened. He still had a strong spirit even when his body was working against him. But through it all I have found comfort knowing that Thaddeus had such a full life and had touched so many lives of family and friends. I will always have such great memories that I will carry with me always. To my wonderful dog and loving companion…..Goodnight, sweet prince.

Bio:
One of my absolute favorite tricks that he did (and he just instinctively did this on his own) was to put his paw on his tennis balls to keep them from rolling away as our park is on a slight incline. He was a clever pooch!
