Arrival Story: After starting our search for a house I asked my husband (again) for the dog I have been dreaming of. He said wait until after we have kids. I told him, ok, but let start picking out names. He got excited about that and started looking for cool female Doberman names (because he knew that was what I wanted). We found our perfect home, and it just so happened to have a fenced in back yard....the perfect place for a Doberman! I asked him again if we could get the dog...and he happened to have a name picked out...Haela Brightaxe. The next day I called the breeder and claimed our puppy. That weekend we went to go meet Haela. We were both sold. Now our puppy girl is bringing so much joy and happiness into our new home. In a couple of years we will welcome kids...and Haela will show them the ropes!

Bio: After careful consideration my husband decided on a name. Haela Brightaxe comes from the fantasy world (think Lord of the Rings). She shares a name with the dwarven goddess of luck and protection in battle. We thought it was a good fit for her as she loves and protects her mamma and dada!

I know it has been awhile since I wrote...but I was busy with my first Christmas, New Years and learning how to play with other dogs. So my mom and dad started taking me to this place called "the dog park". Now, let me tell you about this place...it can be fun but it can be really scary too. You see, I am still a little puppy and when those big dogs....like Great Danes and German Shepards come running over to play with me....man sometimes all I can do is scream for help from my mom because I am so scared!
On the bright side though....I get to RUN! I can run and run and run and run! And I have made some really fun friends who are not to big for me, like this German Shepard puppy who is just five days younger than me. His name is Shep and we box each other with our paws and we growl and run. Oh ya, there is this other dog Ruffian and he is this black fluffy dog um...oh ya a Portugues Water Dog. He is really fun too, he really likes to run with me and we wrestle too. Norton is really fun too, he is a Boxer...and we like to box! See, we get our paws up and start to bat each other with them...it is really fun!
So, anyway it is really fun most of the time to go to the dog park. I mostly don't scream for help anymore...only when I get knocked over by a big dog and get scared. Mom says some day I will be as big as most of the other dogs and they will scream becuase they are scared of me. But I will be nice because it's not fun when big dogs scare little dogs.

Well, this is my first year of life so I don't know how the human things work. They leave for six hours taking all this good smelling food with them. They come back all tired and with no good smelling food for me! Meanwhile I am crossing my legs to keep from making a mess in my bed!
I must say the best part of this Thanksgiving is my people are home a lot! Four days in a row both of them were home...we got to play and throw the ball...and then there was all this white cold, wet stuff all over the ground. I didn't want to walk in it but my people did and they told me it was ok...I still don't know though. They wear shoes and I don't. On my walk my feet got so cold that when I got home I went right into my bed and curled up with my paws under me so I could warm up!
