Leave a bone for Lily

Nicknames: Lilydog, Lilygirl, My Baby, Best Dog in the World, Sweetie Pie, Punkin'

Quick Bio:
Likes: My people, walks, people food, cat food, pillows. Attention. Petting.Going for a ride in the car. Coming home from a ride in the car.

Pet-Peeves: Loud noises, the cat trying to be my friend, being alone, people who don't realise I'm the best dog in the world.

Favorite Toy: One that belongs to another dog. Tennis balls are nice, and things to chew on. Anything I can rip the stuffing out of.

Favorite Food: Cat food!

Favorite Walk: Anywhere, as long as it isn't somewhere with loud noises. I used to love going through the woods by our old house on the way to the dog park until we moved.

Arrival Story: After my mom broke up with a guy she was seeing she realised pretty quickly that she didn't miss him, but missed his dog. So she started thinking about getting a dog. She didn't want to get a puppy, rather a young adult so shewouldn't have to deal with all the puppy stuff (what did she know?), not to mention wanting to give an older dog a home. So she went to the animal shelter with her brother, "So I didn't do anything stupid like bring home the first cute puppy I see." They went a couple of times and didn't find the right dog.
Then they went back and while looking at other dogs saw some people in the last kennel holding a little puppy (that was me!). "Ahhh--cute puppy" thought mom. Then--I know you won't be able to believe this part--they left me and I was alone in the kennel (my siblings having already been adopted.) My mom, understandably, was horrified. "How could they leave that cute puppy" she said to her brother in tones of astonishment. (Ok, I don't remember this part, but I've heard...) So they came over to see me, and when mom picked me up I felt so much better I put my face down in the crook of her arm and settled down to sleep instantly.
Mom turned to her brother (my uncle!) and said "I think I'm in love. Am I crazy?" (Not that I'm not loveable, of course, but it had only been about 15 seconds by then since we'd met.) Her brother, who tries to be a cynic, said "no, of course not! Look at her!"
And it was settled. Apparently there was some deceit involved in my adoption process but mom assures me it was nothing unethical. Just involving someone pretending to be mom's landlord because they wouldn't hold me for her in case she couldn't reach the landlord.
"I have to have this dog" was said in slightly hysterical tones to my grandma to convince her to comply."
While this was all being arranged her brother stood guard over me and hissed "she's TAKEN" at anyone who looked my way.
So really I can't blame them. I got the best mom and family and they got me--the best dog in the world!!

Bio: I live with grandma and grandpa now. My mom misses me a lot and I miss her too. But I love my grandma and grandpa and they take me for walks every day and treat me like the wonderful dog I am so I'm happy. And they hardly ever leave me alone.
I take my dog jobs very seriously, especially guarding my house and my people. Anywhere my people are is mine, of course. I have a lot of work to do. No wonder I'm worn out in that picture.

My mom's home and she brought that guy with her I really like! And she's been here for two months now and it looks like they're staying. I'm as happy as I can be. Mom and dad take me to my park now, and I get to go for walks, too. I continue with my important house guarding responsibilities, and have taken on the job of regularly monitoring two new cats, as well as helpfully cleaning up any cat food they accidentally leave behind.
Life is good.
