Arrival Story:
I came from a home with a small human and another dog. Mom and Dad wanted to give the small human all the attention and I wanted to play too. I was just a puppy, but I was in the crate a lot. I was what they called "High-energy". They put me in the newspaper as a shepherd-collie mix. My new mom saw the ad and came to get me. I have been with her ever since. She just recently found out I was a Belgian Tervuren. Boy was she suprised! She says I am the best dog she has ever had.

Bio:
Sierra was my first girl dog. I had just moved home from Louisiana, and I knew no one here, and could not bring my dogs with me. It was a rough time for me to be starting over. I had applied for a rescue German Shepherd, and had been turned down because I was single, and they didn't want the dog to be agressive to future suitors. I had just moved into a small house with a big yard and I longed to have a furry companion. I had always had energetic dogs and I wanted a herding/working breed, but not a puppy, so I started looking in the newspaper. An ad for a Shepherd/Collie mix was the first one that caught my eye and I called the number. About an hour later I was standing in front of one of the most beautiful, but a little skinny, dogs I had ever seen. She was awesome! I did not at the time know she was a Tervuren, but I had to have her. They were giving her up because she was very demanding for attention. She was named Sierra, after the guy's truck. Obviously these people did not see the treasure they had in this dog. I took her home and the rest is history. She has been the most amazing and awesome dog, always reading exactly what I want from her and doing it. She is active, but I wouldn't call her hyper. I can take her anywhere and do anything with her. She can get any anxious dogs to calm down and shy people to open up. We couldn't do the rescue work we do without her. She is truly amazing. She's a part of everything I do and she's a lot of the reason I do it. We call her Sierra Mega Tsunami because she is like a giant tidal wave of love that just bowls you over when you meet her. I own a remodeling and construction business and she helps us in the office and helps clean the truck! I can even take her to outdoor projects. Now, if I could only stop her from barking at squirrels at the window!

I am a grooming nightmare...

Hello everyone,
I am a grooming nightmare right now. My winter coat is at full force and my grooming has been slow to none. I think my mother has finally given up on torturing me with the brush until spring gets a little closer. Bandit has turned 12. He still acts like a pup most of the time. Right now he is in the office with mom and dad waiting for them to get some food so he can have a bite or two. I have news for him, they are on their "post holiday diets" whatever that is. So they won't be eating anything tonight. I'm too good for begging so I am watching animal planet in the living room.

My winter coat is coming in again. I am getting furrier by the moment. I love winter because it gets cold enough to finally love on my humans without getting overheated.

Auggie found his people...
Although I will not miss having to hide my rawhides better or all of his bed hogging, I will miss his playful puppy attitude. He had me at the word woof!

Auggie, if you are out there---you had me at the word "Woof!"
