Bio: 1989-2003. During her last year with us, one of Sherlocke's Dad's Customers invited all 3 of us to Islamorada, FL. It was the first vacation Sherlocke had ever been on with us and I thought it was a great finale. It was one of the most beautiful places she could have gone to visit. Laying out there, looking over the Gulf of Mexico, taking in the sea air. Sherlocke's Dad was out of town when she was ready for the Rainbow Bridge. She waited for him to come home. We had to put Sherlocke down on August 15th, 2003. Her dad was with her. Sherlocke never knew Rosie. Unknown to us, that was the day Rosie was born.

This was my one and only vacation. I wasn't doing well, and Mom & Dad were so happy that my Dad's friends told them to bring me along. They were "Dog People". You see, I was almost 14. . .and Mom & Dad didn't like leaving me in the kennel when they went on vacation. At 14, it was really stressing me out. They brought me along. This home on Islamorada, FL was beautiful. It had it's own lagoon. . . and it looked out over the Gulf of Mexico. Mom and I would go out and sit and look out over the Gulf. I think Mom was hoping that the "Sea-Air" would help my condition.
I had company while I was there. There was little Jack Russell, I can't remember his name. . .that was about as old as I was. . .had a skin condition. . .and was blind. Boy were we a pair. Then there was this mutt, Black Girl was her name. She and I didn't have too much in common. She was young. I had the run of the place. Mom and I would go sit and look out over the Gulf. . .one time, little Jack, came running out to see me. Well, he couldn't see. . .so, as he was running out to the lagoon. . .he flipped right over me. Mom just laughed. Seemed to suprise him, I just kind of raised my head and looked at him.
You see, what ever my condition was, I didn't feel like eating much. I was pretty much on an "Arby's Montana" or "McDonald's French Fry" diet. One night, before the humans went out for dinner. . .Dad's friends figured that they would give me a real treat. They fired up that grill. . .grilled me a hot dog. . .just for me. . .and I waited for Dad to come back with those French Fries. Ate them right up. . .Oh, well. Luckily, they thought it was funny that I turned my nose up to that hot dog. By then, I wasn't smelling much anyway. I probably don't know what I missed.
What a weekend!

Rosie has kept us so occupied that it's hard to remember alot of things that Sherlocke did through the years. That's what puppies are good for, to help ease the pain. Sherlocke was with us for 14 years. And as I remember all the things she had done. . .I will write them here.
The Flop. . .
Through the years, the flop changed. As a puppy, she would drink her water and then run into the living room lay her head down on the floor and then flip the rest of her body to the ground. In mid-life, she would drink her water and then run into the living room lay her head down on the floor and then gently flip her body to the ground. As a senior, she would drink her water and the slowly move into the living room, put her head to the floor and lay down gently. It was so cute to see her do this. . .and it was cuter every time she did it. What an angel!

Dad had one rule. "No Dogs In the Bed" Mom didn't care and I knew it. I didn't particularly like that rule and I was going to change it. Mom's out in the living room watching TV and Dad's in bed. You know, at first, I wasn't too smart. But, I AM a fast learner. At my bedtime, I would see that Dad was in bed. I would jump in to bed with him and snuggle. When I snuggled, it woke him up and he knew I was there. . .so, out of the bed I went. After awhile, when I would jump in to the bed and didn't snuggle. . .well, he's a heavy sleeper. . .must I say more? Mom would just smile. After all, the cats were allowed in bed. . .So, why not the 3, no, the 5 of us? Sherlocke
