Arrival Story:
Dahlia was purchased as a purebred pitbull but when her owners saw how big she was getting they assumed she must not be a purebred and therefore she was of no use to them. So they stuck her in a pen in their backyard with two other dogs and tried to starve her to death. One dog hung itself, another did starve to death, and finally some neighbors called a rescue to come and get Dahlia.
The pitbull rescue wouldn't take her because of her size so she was adopted by the great dane resuce and named Baby because of her size in porportion to the other danes.
We saw her online, fell in love, and drove to Colorado Springs to adopt her the following Saturday.
