Arrival Story:
I adopted him from Greyhound Adoption California m After filling in an application, they came and looked at my house, and interviewed me. Spaulding and I were a great fit. When he first came to us he was extrememly underweight. He was only about 63 lbs. (He now weighs 82 lbs). You could see every bone in his back, all his ribs, and every bone in his tail. But now he's filled in a bit, all his hair came back and his coat is beautiful and sleek. He also had an injury on his leg from racing which was bandaged up when he got here. But that has healed completely. Spaulding took a while to adapt to the new environment since, like most former racing greyhounds, he didn't know about windows, cars, stairs, how to play, etc. But now he knows about all those things and spends his days in the lap of luxury...getting into mischief, and being the most happy and gregarious greyhound ever! He's a great dog!

Spaulding (racing as Big Jim Cool) ran in 61 races over 3 years and won 8. He seemed to do pretty well according to his racing records, and has quite the pedigree. We're just happy he's here with us! We got Spaulding from www.greyhoundadoptioncaliforinia This is one of several Greyhound adoption groups. They make wonderful, quiet, happy, loving companions. They don't need much exercise (a 15 minute walk a day plus an hour on the weekends will do) to stay in shape. They don't bark much, they LOVE people and soft things. They are also great apartment dogs as they love to sleep and can curl up in very small places.
