Arrival Story:
We did the unthinkable. We went to a pet store. I know better, but I could not help myself. He was just so cute. I dont ususally go into the stores. I went in to "just look". Big mistake, he had just come in. Was only there for a day.
Bio:
We already had a Golden. She was 8 at the time. They got along so well. Lady (golden) usually does not like other dogs. Although she was great from day one with Rocky. Rocky always looked out for her. When our neighbors Bull dog came over and started some issues with Lady, Rocky jumped between the two. Stopping the bull dog from fighting with Lady.
Lady went to the Rainbow Bridge in March. After her passing, Rocky would not eat for a few days. He was very depressed, and lonely. I have never seen a dog greive like that before.
About a month after she passed I decided to do some rescue work. A few weeks after I started to foster, I noticed that Rocky was getting some white hairs around his eyes and muzzle. I really did not pay much attention to it. It became worse so I took him to the vet for blood work and testing to see why he was getting so white, since he is only 5 years old.
All testing came back normal, actually the vet has no idea why he is turning white. He acts normal, just looks funny.
The first picture of Rocky is from 11/05. The second picture of him was from May 05. See the difference in just 6 months. Next year at this time he will probably be brown and White. The brown hair is not turning white, just the black hair is.
I think he just wants to look like my rescue dogs.... American Eskimo Dogs. He wants to be white too.
