I have been a busy bee the past couple of months. My Meetup Group organizer Holly (VA Adventure Dogs) has been keeping us busy with fun things that we can do with our pup parents.

We went to Barrel Oak Winery's Dog Days of Summer on August 2nd. This is a really cool place where dogs can even go in the tasting area. A DC rescue, Lucky Dog, was having a fundraiser so we drank for a good cause. BOL!!

Om August 15th we went to the Dog Days Peach and Sunflower Festival at Great Country Farms in Bluemont, VA. There were all kinds of farm animals, an obstacle course for dogs to practice on, a pond to swim in and we even went on a wagon ride to pick peaches. Bluemont Winery just across the street got in on this too. Not only did we get in to the tasting room, but the pup parents had their tasting at the table. We all got to share fresh bread and yummy cheeses. The pups didn't get any wine but someone has to find the way home. The people at the next table loved me and I got cheese and sausage from them. Yummy!!! My Aunt Cheryl was up for a visit and she went too. That made it even more fun.

The next day me, Mom and Aunt Cheryl went down Route 5 in MD in search of lighthouses. We found a couple, along with a great Civil War cemetary and memorial. The lighthouse on Solomon's Island had burnt down but we had a great late lunch at the Catmarran. The hostess and waitress were really nice to me. I even got a bowl of ICE water! We has ice cream cones for dessert and then headed home.

On August 29th we had a Day out in Annapolis. We went on two cruises, walked around the Naval Academy grounds, bought picnic fixins and went to a free concert in the Quiet Waters Park. Mom won a raffle and got a coupon for ice cream. I hope we can get back to use it. I LOVE ice cream!!!

We have a new family member, Molly. She is a 4 month old Lionshead bunny that Mom adopted. She is really cute. I think she likes me.

That's it for now. Hope all you pups are having a PAWSOME summer!!!!

Happy Spring!!!

My Mom has been crazy busy and we didn't log in for awhile. It was good to catch up on all the news with my pup pals. My Mom is on night shift at work this weekend and played that identify a dog game to pass some time. She won 50 zealies!! I gots to send prezzies to all my pals. That was fun!!!

We went to the wine festival with the NOVA Adventure Dogs. It was pretty hot that day so we cut it short and grabbed a spot in the shade at a very dog friendly restraunt. They brought us bowls of water and everyone made of us. It was great!!! Afterwards we went to a really nice dog park but we were too hot and tired to play much. Mom and I came home and took a nap. BOL!!!

We went on a hike at the National Arboretum with the NOVA Trail Dogs. Mom enjoyed all the beautiful flowers. I had a great time at the "unofficial" dog park we found by the river. Except for when I slipped off the dock into the river. That was not fun!!! Mom and another pup's Mom came flying and pulled me out. Maybe I should learn to swim? But definitely not in such deep water.

I have been to a couple of the dog parks several times this month. We've been walking around DC. I got to go to a cool restraunt at Eastern Market when my Mom met a friend for dinner. We may go on a cruise and then to a Yappy Hour next month. Mom isn't sure just how I will do on a boat. She wants to take me car camping at the ocean this summer too.

We are going to be moving 6 of the younger ferals that Mom wasn't succesful with socializing completely to my Aunt Cheryl's next month. She lives out in the country. They will be outside cats there. Safer than the DC streets for sure but I know it's hard for my Mom to do. We found a good home for a friendly one. Yeah!!! Mom was very happy about that. We still need to find homes for some 6 month old kittens. They're beautiful so if you're in the market please let us know. Unfortunately we may have to euthanize one of the older ferals. He is FIV positive and hasn't been doing well lately. He is going to the feral spay/neuter clinic today to get checked out.

That's pretty much it for now. Play hard and make sure you get lots of treats!!!

It has been awhile since my last entry. Things have been very busy. My Mom was away for a weeks vacation in March. I stayed with my pup pals Jax and Chimani and had a vacation of my own. BOL!

We have joined two doggie groups at Meetup. One is NOVA Trail Dogs. We had a full moon hike around the monuments in DC and that was really cool. This was my first group walk and my Mom was very proud of what a good girl I was. Last Saturday we went on a Bluebell hike at a VA State Park. It was raining and there were lots of HUGE puddles but I went through them bravely. The other dogs got to be offleash as no one else was around. My Mom wanted to let me run free but was a little unsure. Maybe next time... But we had fun. I guess the Bleubells were pretty but they weren't very tasty. Yuk!!

The other group we have joined is Adventure Dogs. The first meetup is this week and it's a Yappy Hour at a hotel in Alexandria. We're also signed up to go to a wine tasting later this month.

I had a pup pal for a sleepover last weekend. Her name was Kinzee. Her foster parents were going away for the Easter weekend and she needed a temporary foster. We had a great time!!! She is a great dog. Very friendly, sweet and playful. I hope she finds a really good, forever home soon. I think my Mom would have liked to adopt her for us but she isn't really sure yet about a second dog. It's nice to have a playmate but me amd Mom have a special realationship and it's fine with just the two of us. Plus we are able to help with the rescue dogs sometimes. That is important too.

Kinzee didn't get to go on the hike but she went with us for a walk at the National Arboretum on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and there were lots of people. Everyone made of us and we enjoyed that a lot. Kinzee is only about 10 months old but she was very well behaved. We were very proud of her.

I had to go to the vet Monday morning as I seemed to have a urinary tract infection. I am on antibiotics for two weeks. Mom puts them in the pill poppers things so it isn't bad at all.

We tried cutting my Phenobarb back a little more (with the vet's agreement) as I haven't had any seizures for a very long time. Unfortunately I had one Saturday afternoon. Mom put my dose back up right away. After the UTI is gone we'll check with the vet about trying again maybe. But I am on a very low dose and my last bloodwork was fine.

Well that's about all the news for now. Take care pup pals!!!!

Love,

Daysy
