Arrival Story: After adopting our other Golden, Sam, we decided to volunteer with Golden Bond Rescue. During this time we provided a foster home for some of the animals coming into rescue, prior to adoption. Jackie was one of those fosters. During this time it was discovered he would need surgery on his back leg. The joint was so deteriorated it needed to be rebuilt. Jackie was one of the sweetest dogs we had ever met and by the time he was ready for surgery we had decided we wanted to keep him with us. It was discovered the other back leg would need to be operated on in the future so we decided to do it at the same time Golden Bond was having the first leg done. During the whole ordeal Jackie maintained his sweet disposition and big Golden smile and only grumbled when the pain was at it's worst. We officially adopted Jackie in February of 2001. Bio: Jackie had been through 2 homes and a foster home prior to coming to live with us. His first and second homes were on farms and he lived outside, staying in a barn with other animals. He only learned to be housetrained through his first foster home as a 1 year old. His previous owner turned him over to Golden Bond because of the leg injuries and the fact he could no longer run with him. It's been 2 -1/2 years since the surgery and Jackie now runs like a normal dog. At times he can run faster and out manuever Sam! I've Been On Dogster Since:
