My Spark baby

Sparky died of a brain tumor January 8th, 2008. He started having seizures and couldn't walk for days in December. He never had seizures before. But after a few days of meds he walked again. He tried so hard to live and refused to lay down and die. His back legs wouldn't work and he would struggle for hours to stand, and he would get mad and bark in fustration. I held him one night and he looked me in the eye and had a very small seizure while staring at me. Thats when I told him he could go and I'd be OK. I always begged him to live for me. I couldn't bare the thought of not having him, of my baby dieing at only 13. He wasnt big, he was always healthy, I feel like he should have lived as long as any really old dog, at least 16-18. But a day and a morning later he died at home in, what I guess, was his sleep. He was out of it. I honestly believe he knew what I said to him. He went downhill from there. He was the best dog ever. My grandfather and i say he was that once in a lifetime kind of dog. (Grandpop had his) .

Those of you who have had a special dog will know exactly what I mean. There will never be another like him. My heart literally aches every time I look at a picture and think of him. I am truely thankful for the time I had with him. If anyone else is going through a hard time with their baby feel free to contact me and tell me about them.
