Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Gotcha Date: October 1st 2005
 Birthday: December 15th 1999
Likes: Love and pets, belly rubs, snoozin' on her pillow--but would prefer the couch, WOOFing

Pet-Peeves: New people scare me a bit, being picked up (I have legs--they're short, but they work!!)

Favorite Toy: Any kind of stuffy toy, a big rope bone to chew and play tug-a-war with anybody who will play, the squirrel that she's going to catch some day!

Favorite Food: Beggin' Strips, plain yogurt, soft peppermints, mini-marshallows, string cheese, french cut green beans

Favorite Walk: Visiting the vet's waiting room, the park, around the neighborhood, any rest stop on a long trip

Best Tricks: Jumping up on the couch, stomping on Mama's foot to get her attention, managing to get more hashbrowns in and on my ears than in my tummy.

Arrival Story: Jasmine is a rescue dog from the Basset Hound Rescue of New Mexico. She came to live with me on October 1, 2005. Jazzy is a little Basset, but has a big Basset heart and lots and lots of Bassetude. She had not been exposed to a lot of new and different people in her first home, so she was a bit of a scaredyc@t at first, but once she gets to know you, she is really a big love-puppy who will roll over and let you rub her tummy. She pretends to be "fierce and ferocious", but is really just a lover at heart.

Bio: Jasmine continues to make progress as far as her socialization goes. It has take us almost three years to get her to a point where she just barks at new people instead of having a huge anxiety attack. Jasmine is learning that she can meet new people and other dogs and not feel threatened or scared. She has also discovered the joys of stuffie toys, and has a big *stuffed* Greenie toy (available exclusively from the Friends of Utah Basset Hounds rescue site) that she loves to squeak and play with. Jazz also likes to chew on big knuckle bones or huge rawhides--to help keep her "pearly whites" nice and clean. She has a wonderful sense of humor, and we find more things to laugh about with her every day. She loves to "sing", and often sings "duets" with Zoe the Parrot or trios with Pelly and Zoe!
Jasmine is part of the Pedigree Million Dog Mosaic. (http://www.pedigree.com/03Adoptio n/Million%20Dog%20Mosaic/Default.a spx) You can find her by typing in jasmine69 in the search box.
Jasmine was helped to the Rainbow Bridge on May 31, 2011, after a diagnosis of congestive heart failure. She is greatly missed by her family.
