Wow, just noticed that I, "Gracie", haven't written a Dogster Diary page since my older sister, Molly, went to the rainbow bridge in February.
The rest of winter passed slowly.
The family has been busier with better weather. Mom did a wellness project at work called "March into May". Buddy and I got to do it too! Our family committed to at least 3 dog walks a week . . .we accomplished our goal!
We were continuing well afterwards, too, then came Diego. He's our nephew : a Newfoundland puppy-Matt's dog. Dad said he could live with us while Matt and Serina finished up at OSU, moved to Connecticut, etc. The "ETC" took longer than planned. Diego was here a month! Dog, talk about changes; mom and dad had to "puppy proof" the house. I loved teaching Diego how to wrestle, but kept forgetting to go outside for my lessons. It was fun having a pup around, but I was tired everynight. And I'm a Brittany! You know,
"forever a puppy Brittany" ! I can only imagine how tired my paw-rents were!

Early Friday morning (Feb 22-23) my Mom and Dad took my sister , "Molly the Dog ", to the Emergency Vet Clinic. The Vet said she had a stroke and there wasn't anything to heal her. Mom and Dad were with her when she passed. Everyone is extremely sad at our house. Mom is having a difficult time . . .our family has lost 4 dogs in 18 months for various reasons. Morgan was 16 y/o; Molly 16.5 y/o but Max was 1 year old and Jake only came to live with them for 3 months and then got a virus that the best vet schools in the country couldn't cure. Mom and Dad miss all their dogs. And love Buddy and I very much. They are trying to keep Buddy and I busy, but you can tell they hurt. . . It's been a week now . . .Buddy and I are still getting lots of walks. Guess that helps our paw-rents . . . Must admit, I've been "caught" looking for Molly myself . . .

Thanksgiving is a special time for me. . . I came to live with my foster Mom last year. Carin gave me a chance for a better life. She rescued me, made it possible for me to have the operations I needed on my eyes (and so I won't have pups), but most of all she was brave and let me go to a forever family. I am forever grateful to her. I hope she does come visit me next summer! I need to let her see how happy she made me!
Forever,
Grace-the-face
