Bio:
I saw her and I almost fell over, she was so cute - and engulfed by fleas. She was so tiny that I didn't want to use strong flea shampoo on her, so I bathed her in the sink with baby shampoo for hours until every flea finally came off. She growled every time we picked her up and she ate anything and everything and guarded her food bowl like Cerberus. She was probably hurt by a person somehow - she didn't trust us at fist and her ribs were sore on one side. But we grew on her and we thought we were in the clear until she got Demodectic Mange. The vet said that this meant she probably was born and lived without human contact until we found her, and that she could never have puppies because they too would get demodec. But yesterday Nov. 18th Lola got her third negative skin scrape and now she is demodec -free; and no more liquid medicine shoved down her throat every night! It is the first time in her life to not be on a strict medicine routine. Lola is now a boisterous 66 pound terrier-thing of some kind whose barks interfere with television reception.
